EverQuest Producer Reveals New Expansion
The Scars of Velious will add a new continent and additional character graphics.
Last night at the EverQuest Gathering 3 (EQG3) event in Las Vegas, EverQuest producer Brad McQuaid stated that Verant will indeed release a second expansion to its extremely popular massively-multiplayer online role-playing game, EverQuest. The new expansion, The Scars of Velious, will take place on the icy continent of Velious, an inhospitable land inhabited by powerful ice giants and frost dragons, and is scheduled for release this December.
During a chat hosted by EverLore, an unofficial fan site, McQuaid revealed that the expansion will not increase the character level cap, which the previous expansion The Ruins of Kunark raised to from 50 to 60. The Scars of Velious also won't feature any new character classes and races. Instead, the expansion will include the new continent, which will have a new starting city for barbarian characters, and will also feature new character graphics. According to McQuaid, the new expansion will likely appear in stores as a traditional add-on, packaged separately from the full game.
