    Demon's Souls is way better than this game by a long shot i don't know why people think this will beat Deamon's Souls in RPG of the year. Hate me if you want but i know its true.

    This game was a total disappointment for me, nothing new, nothing original, nothing to be a challenge... ill rather play again Oblivion.

    It's a pretty good game and very addicting. Endless hours and depending on your character the story runs a different way. Yea okay the graphics may seem like they could of done a better job but it's not all that bad.. still good. Playing wise it's great. If you're an RPG fan then it's a definite suggestion to buy.

    I'm 32 hours in at 15% complete. The game is epic in every meaning of the word. But it's not for everyone, meaning it is not a hack and slash at all.

    The combat is a step up from previous Bioware games yet still retains that old school feel, it does get much better after around 10 hours or so, its quite a slow burner. On a different note the PC version outshines its console brothers, not just in the graphic department but that of the control scheme, so if you have a choice on which platform you should buy it on its PC all the way.

    @ Mike Laidlaw - you delivered a sensational game.

    I actually think the combat in DAO is the best in bioware's "third person" RPGs line. Characters dont stare 3 minutes at themselves between the attacks; they attack fluently, nicely; warriors finally have some active skills (not come close, click attack and watch) and the fatalities that occur from time to time - lovely.
    And the game IS mature. If you dont think that blood is mature, then there must be something wrong with you. Not to mention the plot; a vast majority of the decisions in DAO arent the good guy/bad guy thing you see in other biowares rpgs. Its actually closer to the witcher - you try to choose the lesser evil in severeal cases. And more importantly, there is the approval of your party you track; something the witcher didnt offer.
    I would like to hear, grakinfrak, what do you think is a mature setting? Saving a princess from atop a tower, having to fight a dragon? You complain about lots of blood; but honestly, when you slice through a group of thugs, there are lots of blood. In fact, the blood made me believe the world even more. It is reallistic.

    This guy certainly talks the talk. I've only played Dragon Age: Origins for about half an hour, but I have to say, the combat felt horrible. I still want this game, but I'm hoping swordplay becomes more instinctive at later points.

    What a disappointment. It took me a long time to wise up, but the reputation Bioware earned for great storylines with KOTOR was very clearly undeserved; it's been obvious for some time now that the game was a fluke, and whoever wrote it must have quit afterwards. Everything they've made since has been overrated, unsatisfying crap, and they're continuing the trend here--though the gaming press is continuing to pretend the emperor has clothes on. I can't believe Bioware thought they were making an adult game when they made this thing. There is so much spattering blood and over the top violence and posturing that only a kid, or a nerdy guy in arrested development, like the Bioware people clearly are, could enjoy this. It honestly looks like a parody, there is so much gore. Even the logo is a bunch of blood... WTF? Damn, what a disappointment. And it looks like Mass Effect 2 is going to be the same, "dark" and hence supposedly mature, but actually B-movie style, garbage. I'm sure that won't stop it from getting a 9.5 either, though. ARgh! Well, good for the kiddies who just like blowing things up, I suppose.

    I'm on my 2nd playthrough right now. 1st time playthough was just stellar. DPS Mage turned Arcane Warrior was a major killer in fights. This time through playing a chaotic rogue - and the combat tactics are totally different for my new character and companions. I don't know that I've ever finished a 80 hour game and rushed for my 2nd playthough - not even with Oblivion or Fallout 3. I'm very very impressed. Can't wait for more DA content! - but please release on disk for those of us who aren't xbox live friendly!

    The game is epic and awesome. I'm 50 hours in and it says 30% completion! Loving every minute of it.
    Great interview, they're all really passionate about their game.
    And yeah, the finishing moves are all really badass. I didn't realize they differed depending on weapon type. For instance, my dual wielding rogue leapt onto a dragon's head and stabbed it repeatedly until it crashed to the ground.

    @catamanranman333

    If your done after 12 hours of gaming I would claim you haven't really played the game. You must have rushed through it, doing next to no side questing, exploring or character interaction. After 12 hours I was in Redcliff and I hadn't even visited the dwarfs, mages or elves yet.

    Are you guys playing the same game I am? Ive played alot of RPGs in my time and this one is a step backwards for Bioware as far as how the combat is controlled (or somewhat controlled!) Also the plot is linear with the writers finding the quickest way to bring the six starting stories together. I rushed out and bought this game and expected something ground-breaking true the graphics are pretty enough but as for the claims of 80 hours of immersive gameplay? Im done with my copy after about 12 hours, dont waste the money if you expected what they promise.....Ill mail you my copy! :-(
