Eidos let the world know today that Deus Ex: Invisible War has shipped for the PC and Xbox. The ship announcement comes shortly after developer Ion Storm's head Warren Spector personally responded to a flurry of criticism regarding the game's demo.

Like the first Deus Ex, Invisible War takes place in a dystopian future where heartless corporate factions weave sinister conspiracies. The game is set 20 years after its forebear, in the wake of a devastating nanotech terrorist attack that annihilates the city of Chicago. Players must step into the cybernetic shoes of Alex D.--a corporate espionage trainee who's been enhanced by a series of biomodifications--to try and uncover the plot behind the disaster. Investigate GameSpot's review to further unravel the game's mysteries.

Deus Ex: Invisible War is rated "M" for mature and retails for $49.99.
