    @rollmonster

You are correct. I really do like the interviewers' style and line of questions. None of that BS fluff stuff that we keep seeing over and over again.

Good direct questions that offered us the viewer something relevant.

This interview along has upped my interest meter.

I am leery of Roper though. I hope he has learned something from his last experience and his history will not repeat itself. We are watching and only time will tell. : )

Will you have to pay a monthly fee for this game? I doubt it.

I wish they launched a free character creater to use before they launched the game, like spore did. That would be awesome.

Hey, SlayerX13, actually, MMO's are free to play on consoles, and on Cryptics website for the game, they said they are not going to charge a fee for console games.

  • SlayerX13

    Posted Mar 9, 2009 9:40 am PT

The sub fee for the 360 will probably be the same price. It runs the same as a PC. You turn on your 360, start the game, it connects to Cryptic servers, you play. Microsoft isn't taking up any slack for this game. There is a good chance that the PC and console version will be able to play on the same server. PC players would be pissed if 360 players payed less and a portion would stop playing for than reason alone.

    Posted Mar 8, 2009 1:36 pm PT

    From their FAQ:

Q: Will a monthly fee be required to play?
A: We have not yet announced the pricing structure for the game.

So maybe if there is a sub fee for the 360, it'll be a lot lower then the PC version. I got no issue with $5 or even $10 a month.

It would be cool if they made the xbox online connectivity like Halo, Gears, COD, ect. - no stupid fees, but only a certain number of players.

And I'm hoping to make a knight with telekinisis!

GimmeSomeBlood the game is an MMO just like CoX is. There's no way in hell this game won't be pay to play. The main thing CoX was missing was loot and end game missions, they are claiming this game will have both. This game could actually top WoW for me.

I wonder if they are going to allow for telekinesis...it would be very cool

This game isn't coming out April 20th, Gamespot is wrong. It is coming out, supposedly, in late June on PC. The Xbox 360 release date is still a big mystery, if it is ever even released on Xbox 360.

If they are going to charge fees, they shouldn't be in addition to Xbox Live fees, we shouldn't have to pay both MS and Cryptic. Also, the game should come with at least a free month long online trial.

they need to make a release date and im going to be pissed of if they make you need to pay for online

COH was a great game. Anyone who says different is lying. At least when it first came out anyhow. If this can pick up where that left off, more power to 'em says I.

I don't mind it being COH2... It looks awesome. Between DCU Online and this, I think Champions gets my dollars because it looks WAAAAAAAY more polished.

Sounds fun, but the character showed in this video justed the same boring skills over and over. I loved COH still today and will try Champions regardless but i don't see it pulling its full potential.. maybe the reason why they don't give the public alot of videos of game play.

Hopefully this will stand a chance against wow because it's not set in the same universe.

Obviously it will be a much smaller game at the start so hopefully the scene change will attract players.

I have very high hopes for Champions Online. CoH was my first and, to date, favourite mmorpg. I agree with DeStRoYeR90 though. They keep showcasing fairly dull characters. I'd like to see/read more about the other features of the game. The Nemesis system, the crafting/skills, the guilding and social aspects etc. Right now the only things they've shown me is combat, which I think look alright.

Either way, high hopes for Champions. I hope it turns out great!

    Oh God.

This had better not turn out to be a WoW clone in a superhero universe. The interface is bugging me.

EDIT: Actually, I think I can take that back. I just associate that stupid minimap with WoW anymore :p

Mildly disappointing. They should've used a different character as a demonstration as "Mr. Scorcho" looks like the standard fantasy MMO fire elemental. DC Universe Online's demo I saw at Rock, Paper, Shotgun was much more exciting because it used a more comic book style villian to show off.
