Guitar Hero World Tour priced for Australia

GH World Tour bundle priced at A$329.95 ($274) down under; will also be sold in guitar/software and software-only bundles.

Earlier this week, Activision Blizzard finally placed a date on when Aussies can expect their first taste of four-piece rhythm game action, with Guitar Hero World Tour slated to land down under on November 12. The company's gone one step further now, pricing the different bundles the game will be sold in when it hits Australia.

The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 "super" bundle--which comes with a copy of the game, a drum kit, a mic, and a wireless guitar--will retail for A$329.95. The same Wii bundle comes in A$10 cheaper at A$319.95, while the PlayStation 2 version will set consumers back A$299.95.

Guitar Hero World Tour's guitar bundle--which comes with one guitar and the software--will be A$169.95 for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, A$159.95 for the Wii, and A$149.95 for the PS2. The game on its own will sell for A$89.95 for the PS3 and 360, A$79.95 for the Wii, and A$69.95 for the PS2 version. Activision has previously stated that Guitar Hero 3 controllers will be compatible with World Tour.

I think it's a good price, compaed to $400-$500 that we will have to pay for rock band. I'm used to paying more than the US for games now, and $330 is much less ridiculous than rock band, it's less than half my weekly wage. And it will probably be a little cheaper than retail, JB may sell it fr $300.

Well you can count me out now. What a bloody rip off, but that's Australian game prices for you.

"An extra $170 for a set of drums and a mic! What a rip."

Whilst I am not suggesting it is cheap in any way shape or form, People don't sneeze at paying 300 plus bucks for a force feedback steering wheel.

Before anyone suggests a steering wheel can be used for more than one game, let's not forget these drums and mic will work with Rockband 2 on all platforms and are CHEAPER than the (so far) announced rockband package. You could argue it's a better drum kit too.

$274 US isn't that far off the price to import rockband it looks like to me. I pleasantly suprised att he price point personally.

An extra $170 for a set of drums and a mic! What a rip. Does anyone know if you can buy the drums seperately?

Ouch for real - that is a high price asking for one game .... for around $40 more I could pick up a 360... What about a game and drum bundle? Hopefully it will be a lot cheaper at JB Hifi or Big W.

It's times like these, you say thank god: 1. I've got a brother to split the costs with (sorry to those who don't have a sibling, my bad) 2. Rock Band 2 will be compatible with GH:WT peripherals.

Ouch...that's a bit more expensive than what I was hoping for.

Hopefully JB Hi-Fi will have it cheaper than that.

"how much was rock band 1 down under?"

We don't have it yet (and we still don't have a release date, just "TBC") but most retailers are listing preorders somewhere in the realm of AU$290 (ie, only $20-$30 cheaper than GH: World Tour will be). Don't even think about Rock Band 2...that hasn't even been confirmed to be coming down here yet. EA's really dropped the ball with RB down here. GH > RB anyway.

Wow! $274... how much was rock band 1 down under? Or did they never get it... Here in the USA if that price stays the same I can be a lot of people will pass it up. That's and extra $100 more than RB1!
