Acclaim serves Dance! card

Publisher announces latest game will be a free-to-play dancing MMO game directed by Shiny vet David Perry.

While the company has yet to officially launch a title, Acclaim Games is continually announcing new free-to-play, massively multiplayer online games. Joining BOTS, 9Dragons, and 2Moons on the company's list of projects this week is Dance!, an MMO twist on the rhythm-based dance game genre. Directed by Shiny Entertainment founder David Perry (who is also working on 2Moons), Dance! lets players customize their characters, form dance teams, compete in couples competitions, serve wack crews, and even get married. Although the game is free to play, it will be ad-supported, and gamers will be able to spend their money on in-game items for their characters.

All this game needs is a fun gameplay engine and good music from asia and europe and it will be gold. The reason ddr usa version tend to suck is because they load the games with music they think will appeal to americans when americans are playing the import music filled arcade version.

Dancing MMO! At least they try to innovate. And practically it won't be free. You still need to pay money for those "in-game items".

the Acclaim that makes bad MMOs loaded with ads are not the same Acclaim that made Turok and then went out of business. The name was just purchased in the liquidation sale the original Acclaim had to have to pay off their massive debts.

You'd think after a few bad MMOs they'd try something else.

Well, I beta tested Bots and it wasn't very good. I think if Acclaim wants to get back into gaming, they would make a real game.

    "Wow.

Being a dance major in college, all you'll probably say when the actual product is released is "This in no way resembles real dancing." Does sound intriguing though, being that I'm a DDR junkie and all.
