Toward the end of 2006, the online service for this game was shut down by EA.

    I disagree strongly with this clown's review! I'm a fan of the NFS series as it's like the films of "Fast and Furious", and while the Pursuits, Wanteds, and Carbon were all cool and fun, the Undergrounds were the best, especially this one, NFSU 2! In fact, after wasting my money on NFS Sprint because it's just another racing game, where they detoured away from what NFS is all about, I've been playing this game recently again and it's still as fun as ever! All the negative things this reviewer mentions happen to be the best parts of the game, and I truly hope EA wakes up and makes a NFS Underground 3, building on what makes this game so much fun and addicting, especially now with the 360 and PS3! And PLEASE, bring back Brooke Burke, as Rachel

    he said that there were not many big races but there is the pursuit races which are fun
