EA peels out PC NFS Carbon demo

Gamers can get their race on with a three-track sample of the high-octane driver; 666MB demo now available at GameSpot.

Following in the skidmarks of the Xbox 360 demo released earlier this month, Electronic Arts today pulled the PC demo for Need for Speed Carbon out of the garage. The file is 666MB in size and is now available for download from GameSpot.

Like its Xbox 360 counterpart, there are three tracks to burn rubber on and a taste of each of the three car classes--tuner, muscle, and exotic. By winning races on the drift and circuit tracks, gamers will go head-to-head with rival racer Kenji on a canyon course.

Need for Speed Carbon is scheduled to be released on October 31 on the PC, Xbox 360, Xbox, PlayStation 2, GameCube, DS, PSP, and Game Boy Advance. Wii and PlayStation 3 versions are also being released for both consoles' launches.

The PC version is Need for Speed Carbon is rated E for Everyone and will retail for $39.99. For more information, read GameSpot's previous coverage.

yeah , i liked NFS MOST WANTED better than say underground or others, don´t get me wrong I like this fast and the furious copy, but I think that they should have expanded on most wanted idea, a better sequal of most wanted with more things to do would have been great, instead of fast and the furious 3 CARBON COPY.

Completely and utterlly useless... NFS needs to return to their roots of police evasion, thats where the game shines its best. Most wanted was awesome and to go backwards like this seems kinda silly... but then again this is EA were talking about, so yea...

The parallels to the fast and the furious are making me wonder. The bridge jump Vs a supra and now a drift Evo? All the F&F games have tanked. They should just ally with EA and get it over with. But I see why they dont. Too much moola would go to the wrong people and game would suffer. They should have shipped Racing Lagoon stateside...oh well.

It seems no one has downloaded the demo (neither have I ). We'll just have to wait until it's official release to see how good it is. Considering what I have seen in the videos NFS CARBON should be better than NFS Most Wanted.

No one has played it? I was looking for some feedback. Maybe the number (666) has scared some of you.

there should be something new with this street racing...ea should take it widely and not converging its attention on only graphics and cars and all.....it should turs its concentration on how the cars should react when driven by a user...there should be a certain level of realism in driving aspect.....i dont think that gonna be too hard for the ea team to cope up.......like HOW the SIMBIN electronics do..with their games (GTR2.....GTLAGENDS AND ALL).....
but i gotta admit......and hope as well that nfs carbon will rock and it'll be fun playin....................

Can you help me? I have a laptop (notebook) - Acer travelMate 4604 - Pentium M 2.0GHz, Ati Mobility X700, 1GB RAM... - but when I install the demo, i can´t. It says that "you need to install the latest DIRECT X". Well, of course, there is direct x packed with the demo, but even when I install that, it just doesn´t work. I even downloaded Direct X directly from MicroSoft, but it still isn´t workong. The same thing happened with my FIFA 07 (i´m lucky to have a normal PC as well, though it is much older and NFS carbon looks awful there). Can anyone help me? PLEASE! I´m ruined.... .... ... aaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrgggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Write either here, or if you can, to MaxLeonhart@orangemail.sk
I´d be the most gratefull person on this planet. Thanks

Good question the_real_VIP. If so EA should be upfront about it this time and not just quietly slip in a sheet of paper with lawyer gibberish written on it. EA is in the doghouse, kneeling in the corner with me because of their recent disturbing behavior. Lets hope they clean it up from here on out. Like no buying cheats to unlock everything or even worse, having to pay to download cars that aren't in the game on the day of the release. If they want to offer people the chance to get new cars, that is fine as long as these new vehicles are created after the game has shipped, not just stripped out of a formerly complete game for gouging. Like a certain red shirt in Tiger Woods.
