    @Lanfranc: Well, seeing as they were, the sam and max episodes, I wouldn't like the monkey island ones to be anything similar. I played for a while to a couple of them and I got very bored, not mentioning the graphics which I didn't like at all. I don't have anything against the 3d graphics in this case, but I'd say that I liked the 3d in MI4 better than in sam & max. So if they have to look somewhere for a reference I would prefer them to use MI4 instead of the plain and simple models in sam and max.

    @zeigon and others, I don't quite think you're seeing the full picture here. Effectively, Telltale Games is the descendant of the adventure games division of LucasArts. Many of the people working on this game are former LA employees, including Dave Grossman, Mike Stemmle, Dave Bogan, etc. If anyone can resurrect these old franchises it's Telltale, rather than the present-day LucasArts who as far as I know haven't made a single adventure game for the last ten years or so.

    Based on what Telltale did with the Sam & Max franchise, I have full confidence that this game will be both great and dead centre in the spirit of the old games. I'm certainly going to put my money down on this one rather than that somewhat unnecessary graphical update "Special Edition" from LucasArts.

    As far as graphics go, Zenitan is right. There's no point in deliberately using old tech just to please a couple of purist fans. You got to attract new fans as well as old ones and you can't do that with something that looks like it's still 1995.

    @zeniftan:
    actually I think that there are more people that wants the old style instead of this new one. I guess they have to make it this way to create interest in new players, but IMHO I think that the fans that played it when it first came out many years ago would create enough benefits to make it worth being in 2d.

    I've never played the episodes of Wallace and Gromit, but what they're doing here seems very similar...
    I hope it work's out for them.

    @Zeigon:
    Dude! you gotta move with the times.

    If you want the people who make monkey island games to lose a TONNE of money just satisfy your criteria of making this game old tech. When btw most people don't WANT old tech. then you will never EVER see a monkey island release AGAIN.

    I cannot believe they are going back to the monkey - will they be doing a new Loom soon? Great they kept this going. Based on seeing the characters looks like it keeps to the story. Gotta wonder what it will take to keep Elaina safe and get rid of Le Chuck.

    HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE.
    Monkey Island should have never met 3D. I hope that no one buys these unnecessary and soo-far-from-the-monkey-island-spirit games.
    I hope they make a good Monkey Island 5, though. Of course by Lucas Arts and in 2d Am I asking for too much?

    Monkey Island 3 is my favorite game of all time, yet this game looks like crap. I hope the humor wil compensate.

    Oh nothing could make me happier....another MI game...yes. And Guybrush gets to keep his real voice too. And Elaine gets her real voice back! The art style seems to be more "curse" but in 3D which is another plus. I am one happy man!

    Finally, a new Monkey Island game!

    If the humor in this one is as good as it was in the previous MI games then I'm sold

    Michael Land is composing!!!!
    I'm guessing we can all wait for all 5 episode to come out and be bundled in an actual retail box.

    So is this like a real MI game but the chapters are seperated?? If so than this is probably one of the top 5 happiest days of my life. I'm having a heart attack!
