GC 2008: Silent Hill coming home to PC

Konami announces scarefest will be released for PC on same day as console versions.

Silent Hill is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, and after six installments the series is still able to send a shiver down our spine. At the Leipzig Games Convention today, Konami announced that its horror title will be coming home to roost on PCs alongside the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 releases of Silent Hill: Homecoming this November.

Silent Hill: Homecoming tells the story of World War II vet Alex Shepherd, who has gone back to his hometown, Shepherd's Glen. However, rather than settle into a peaceful life after facing the horrors of war, he'll soon discover that all is not as he left it and he will have to face an army of undead monsters if he has any hope of leading a normal life.

To find out more about the game, check out our recent preview. Silent Hill: Homecoming will make its way to the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC this November.

World War II vet? Isn't the game set in modern times? If so the character appears way too young to be a World War II veterinary.

I'm so glad to hear that aggelos6.
I was extremely disappointed to hear that they were only offering it through Steam, and exclusively for the US no less.

I think having a choice is great. I'm glad to see this is one more game coming out on PC with its console counterparts.

Exclusivity needs to be a thing of the past. All games should be released on all platforms (provided the platform is appropiate for it of course).

And while I'm really glad Konami is releasing this game on the PC, I'm still a bit skeptical about it since it's not being developed by the original developers of the series. Let's hope they prove themselves and release a worthy sequel.
