Turok on PC hunt next spring

Windows edition of Disney Interactive's dinosaur-slaying hero to follow Xbox 360 and PS3 version in 2008.

In 2005, Disney Interactive, then Buena Vista Games, acquired the Turok license from comic book publishers Classic Media. At the time, Disney announced that it would be reviving the long-running series that began on the Nintendo 64 on next-generation platforms. Those platforms were subsequently confirmed to be the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 during the 2006 Electronic Entertainment Expo. The following E3, Disney revealed that Joseph Turok and his elite band of mercenaries would commence the dinosaur hunting on February 5, 2008.

With just four months to go until the anticipated launch, Disney has announced that Turok will also ride on the most venerable gaming platform, the PC. The PC version will follow the February console outings in spring 2008, putting it in a March-to-June time frame.

Turok is in development at Disney's in-house studio Propaganda Games and is powered by Epic's Unreal Engine 3. Despite its far-future setting, gamers will match brawn with dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures, as well as a host of well-trained supersoldiers. In addition to a single-player campaign, the game offers 16-player online multiplayer action. As with its console counterparts, the PC version is rated M for Mature.

    I agree it should be like when you get 3 kills you can turn into a raptor 5 kills A bigger thing ( lol a somethingasourus) and 7 kills lets you turn into a T-REX!!!!!! now that would make things interesting

    They need to add dinosaurs as playable characters on multiplayer, then this would actually be worth getting

    fuking awesome. if turok turns out to be as good as im hoping its going to be then its going to be one hell of a nice shooter for the pc.

    great, another game bout super soldiers shooting stuff in the jungle. it's not turok, and it's certainly not original. **** you disney, **** you.

    Thank God, Allah, Buddah, Jesus, etc for bringing this game to the pc. Now just need the Darkness and Dead Rising.

    i never p-layed turok series at all im kinda pumped for this game though ill probally wont buy it ill end of playing it at a friends house and agreed jedilink n64 was the greatest system ever simply magnificient

    I remember playing Turok and Turok 3 on N64 (I never played Turok 2 for some reason). Man I loved that game. It was awesome. ^_^ Oh the olden days...I'm just hoping that this new one will be really good and still have that wonderful feeling of the older games. Of course I'd still like to see a sequel to Body Harvest or Shadowgate....but without crappy graphics, haha. I love the N64.

    W00T!!! Turok was a big part of my childhood, as well as Goldeneye and Duke Nukem.

    i loved turok 1 and 2 on 64, plus rage wars. the weapons were so over the top and inventive and destructive and fun. her's to hoping.
