The Ship available on Steam

Valve Software's digital-distribution program now offering the "massively mysterious" FPS title developed by Outerlight Ltd.

The Ship, a first-person shooter that emphasizes sneaking and other mystery elements, has finished development and is ready for download exclusively from Valve Software's digital-distribution client, Steam. The Ship has already seen a history with Valve and Half-Life. It was originally a mod for the original Half-Life, and developer Outerlight licensed Valve's Source engine for the new version of The Ship. Although the game sports some of the same features found in all Source-based games--such as Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike: Source--The Ship is a stand-alone game that does not require Half-Life 2 in order to play. The Ship had previously been offered for $14.95 as a preorder purchase, but with the game's release, the price is now $19.95.

Frostyisgod, read the article, this game is not made by valve, it is made by outerlight

the only money valve makes is from licencing the source engine

It's not a mod, it's a stand-alone game; it just uses the source engine. You don't need Half-life 2 to play it.

The Ship itself is kinda boring last time I played, I don't see what's the point of making you pay for it.

I miss the days of the first Half Life where the good mods were free. Now any mod that was even semi good, we have to pay for.

I'm still waiting for the standalone version of Hidden: Source. That game is FUN to play with a lot of people.
