The Club Spotlight - Characters #3

Sega and Bizarre Creations introduce us to Finn and Adjo; two more playable characters from The Club.

The Club's doors will officially open to the public about a month from now, but before you make a reservation, it's only fair that we warn you about some of the unsavory characters who are expected to frequent the upcoming third-person shooter. Sega and developer Bizarre Creations have furnished us with information on two more of the game's playable characters; guys who'll be fighting for their lives alongside Kuro, Seager, Dragov, Renwick, and a couple of other hard-asses whose profiles we've yet to see. Knock over either of these guys' drinks at your own risk.

Official Trailer

Finn does a pretty mean Kane impression in this movie.

Finn
In his early-to-mid 30s, Finn hails from the American South. As a professional high-stakes gambler who rides his luck a lot harder than is good or safe, he finds himself drifting from city to city and country to country. Always chasing the next big game, always managing to stay one step ahead of the law, always leaving behind a trail of bad debts and broken promises, Finn's past--as well as the Mob--finally catches up with him in Las Vegas. He owes the Mob a cool half-million. If he can't pay in cash, then the Mob will take what it's owed in body parts. It looks like Finn's luck has finally run out. Or has it? There's another way out, or so a figure within his Mob captors tells him. It's something called "The Club," which is a game played for the highest stakes there are: If he wins, he goes free, with his debts paid off. Does he want to play? Finn shrugs, which is indication of the situation he's in--tied to a chair and surrounded by Mob thugs. Does it look like he's got any other choice?

Official Trailer

Adjo is even angrier than he looks in this official trailer.

Adjo
Adjo is a giant of a man from Nigeria whose name means "to be righteous" in Yoruba. There's more than a suspicion of a history of violence in his past--no one The Club recruits or press-gangs is a stranger to the means of causing violent death. But, whatever he's been responsible for in the past, Adjo is now trying to redeem himself. Adjo protects the community that has taken him in, defending it from bandit gangs, as well as corrupt police and government officials. He also protects against unscrupulous foreign investors who are out to exploit the community and cheat it of its land. Adjo eventually became such a costly irritant to one of these foreign investors--a multinational oil company trying to illegally build a polluting pipeline across the community's land--that a group of reliable contract killers is hired to discreetly take care of Adjo. It's when Adjo single-handedly kills every one of them that his hidden talents came to the attention of The Club members who are on the oil company's board of directors. The oil company's problem soon becomes The Club's gain. Adjo is kidnapped by Club agents--not without some cost to the agents--and given a stark choice. If he does not take part in The Club tournament, Adjo won't believe the miseries The Club will inflict on the community he protects. Always the strong silent type, Adjo has no choice but to go along with The Club's plan. But may decide to have a reckoning of his own with the evil men behind The Club--should he make it to the end of the tournament.

The Club is currently scheduled for release in Europe on February 8 and in North America on February 19. For more information, check out our recent solo and multiplayer previews of the game.

I wasn't sure about the game at first but the demo was pretty fun. I've never played a shooter/tournament game before so I've been playing it for a while now. Can't wait to see more.

It aint that bad, the single player is pretty bland, but the multiplayer is very addictive and lots of fun, visuals are wonderful and the shooting aspect is very realistic compared to some other shooters out there. Probaly the most creative ps3 shooter right now anyway. I also have a feeling this is going to be a VERY competitive online game. . .HAVE MERCY!!!

Are you kidding? I hated the run. The screen shook so much I had to stop and aim just to see what I was aiming at in the demo for The Club. My score wasn't bad either I just dont like this game. I'm glad they released the demo though. I may not like it but if you do thats fine feel free, enjoy.

I thought the demo was awesome. its kinda fast paced for a 3rd person shooter. It kinda reminds me off a fighting game cause you choose characters and like its so arcade like which is something that intrests me.

Played the demo, it was good for laughs playing with a buddy of mine in multiplayer with some cut throat last minute wins. Adjo's flag I believe is Ethiopia's not Nigeria's...

It just looks like 25 to life which never had more than 10 people online.

the demo wasn't bad, the controls needed to be fixed though, for example turning was painfully slow, and the quick turn button doesn't help if they're 90 degrees to your left or right.

Played the demo and must say that it wasn't as good as I expected. It gets boring after a while...maybe the final version will be more exciting. The graphics looked nice though.
