    Why is he using the same shotty in 3 or 4 gameplay videos and he never moves.... doesnt show the AI...think im going to buy the first one till the review for this comes out.

    The gameplay snippet says it all. In the middle of battle, you are getting a phone call telling you "Good Job" on defeating the enemy--even though the battle isn't over yet! Man this game is buggy!! My fave of the first installment? Having to eat bread in the middle of battle or else I was going to starve to death. Ugh, ugh, ugh.

    First of all... LOL
    my main lenguage is spanish so im trying hard to post comments that everyone can uderstand (thats for the sawed OFF shotgun comment)
    i have been playing FPS for quite a while... 12 out of 22 years.
    so i have played several games of this style since Wolfensten3d, with the pacman ghost levels lol
    and yes.. i am very strange O.o
    Now...
    i honestly dont have a clue on wich criteria is used to select players for demos, but if it was a game creator dont expect he's gonna rock the game using only the knife to kill the hardest foe.
    When i first played SoC in mid difficult i found myself being killed more often than what i was used to... so really its quite diferent. u got to mix the whole ingredients such as diferent armors (suits) plus the artifacts, they add strange effects to be considered such as less bleeding, less damage from bullets, explosions , bites, electricity,etc also weight u carry is a factor to consider cause it influences the speed and resistence while ur character runs.
    Still my advice is to give it a try if ye have the machine to do so... and dont be so hard on small pieces of the entire work wich cant represent entirely the experience of playing a new kind of FPS.

    Am I the only one who hates the "Why would they get a noob to play in the gameplay videos?" comments? In my experience, I've noticed that they're trying to make the game seem more intense and not on 'easy', the only mode the creators would allow to be released on video.

    That's why they always suck and they often don't take a real simple shot. These people aren't random schmucks they take off the street, they're game creators and/or Gamespot employees who have played a FPS before.

    not a "sawed shotgun"... a sawed OFF shotgun. there is no such thing as a sawed shotgun, soz boet. And yeah it is different. It would be cool if you could get a hunting rifle with bird or buck shot rounds!

    hey blubadox that wasnt a "shotgun" it was a "sawed" shotgun or a "short" shotgun so if ye know about guns u should know that there's a big difference, besides the common shotgun shell is only effective in short to medium range otherwise its wasted shot..
    the right gun for the right situation...
    along STALKER you'll encounter different factions represented in different NPC (non-player or playable-characters) such as bandits like those on video number 1 and 2. those are the easier foes you'll ever fight wich doesnt mean that they cant give ye a hard time in some situations... if ye want a challenge try taking a squad of the military faction... those guys have granades stocked who knows where, and its accuracy, armor and weapons are reasons to take your time to think before going in shooting all way out like in other FPS... also try fighting while avoiding nuclear hazards and mutated animals...

    Blubadox, that guy is quite a bit farther than "2 yards" and he's using buckshot, which anyone would know is practically USELESS more than a few meters away. He should be using slugs or darts (aka flechettes).

    Shotguns are not long range weapons...not supposed to hit any one from that distance....Gun play is lacking at this point(use the correct weapon for the task).

    This game is soooo boring. Awful combat, you hit a guy two yards away with a shotgun and he doesn't die. yeah right..its *veeery* realistic.

    And is it just me or does the AI seem a little less intelligent and a little more aggressive?
    Cant figure out if some of the decisions in the presentation are out of laziness or ignorance.

    Not only are the reload sound effects out of synch with teh gun itself (you hear him close the breech after he actually does it) isn't a glock he's holding... it's a Makarov PM.
