S.T.A.L.K.E.R. R.E.N.A.M.E.D.

Subtitle of THQ's post-nuclear action switches from "Oblivion Lost" to "Shadow of Chernobyl."

Another tidbit buried in THQ's Q4 2004 financial report is the title change for the PC shooter formerly known as S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Oblivion Lost. The game will be released sometime in THQ's fiscal 2005, which starts in March 2004.

Now called S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, the game is set in and around the now-titular nuclear plant in the Ukraine. Developed by GSC Game World, also located in the Ukraine, S.T.A.L.K.E.R follows an adventurer poking around the plant's radioactive ruins for artifact and weapons. Standing in his way is a horde of misshapen mutants with the usual predilection for manflesh. The game will feature an advanced graphics engine to power its detailed environments, which feature a mostly faithful recreation of the Chernobyl plant and its surroundings. GameSpot's extensive previous coverage of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has more D.E.T.A.I.L.S.
