Scrapland gets gold plating

American McGee's "film noir murder mystery set in the world of robots" clangs off to the factory and will ship early next month for the PC.

Hong Kong-based publisher Enlight announced today that the PC version of Scrapland has gone gold and will ship to retail stores in early November. Developed by Spain-based Mercury Steam Entertainment, Scrapland boasts Alice designer American McGee as its executive producer.

In the game, players assume the role of D-Tritus, a humanoid robot built from junk who is mixed up in a series of mysterious murders reminiscent of an old film noir. D-Tritus will have to solve the case, and he'll be able to assume the identity of any character he encounters to help him do so.

Rated "T" for Teen, Scrapland will carry an SRP of $39.99. A version of the game for the Microsoft Xbox is slated to ship in late January.
