Bionic Commando, Street Fighter IV hit PC in July

Grapple-happy action game and arcade brawler lead Capcom's Games for Windows push, with Resident Evil 5 to follow later this year.

PC gamers with a penchant for action are not unfamiliar with having to wait a few months after a game's console release to get a desktop port, as is the case with Capcom's Resident Evil 5, Street Fighter IV, and Bionic Commando. Potential purchasers will have to hold out a while longer, given that Capcom updated the release windows for the trio of PC ports today, with none of them arriving for at least two months.

Street Fighter IV and Bionic Commando will be the first PC ports out of the gate, with both arriving in July. In Street Fighter IV's case, PAL territories already have a concrete release date of July 3. Both games will also feature support for higher screen resolutions than their console counterparts, and the PC Street Fighter IV will include three additional graphic filters to make the game look more like its original stylized trailers. As for Bionic Commando extras, Capcom touts remappable controls, mouse-and-keyboard support, and DirectX 9 and 10 compatibility.

Unfortunately, PC gamers will need to wait a bit longer for Resident Evil 5. Capcom said only that it would be out later in the year. PC-exclusive extras are also slim at the moment, with the publisher mentioning only that the game would make use of Nvidia's GeForce 3D Vision technology.

well i dont buy every SINGLE pc game i play. But i do buy alot. I have bought heaps. Some new games that come out i feel arent good enough for me to go out and purchase it and are just to expensive for what they are. But if a game comes out a really like, ill buy it, for sure, hell i even BOUGHT tomb raider Anniversary from STEAM. But there are ALOT games out there that i would never ever think about buying in the first place. So if i play them or not those particular games, i would never of gone out and bought them anyway, regardless of piracy laws or not. + i really disagree with a product having a license , all a license does is allow actors and musicians to make money when they are not working. Games, movies, music should just be products like everything else, like appliances or cars. Imagine if SONY charged you just for someone else in your house was listening to a song that you were playing and you got arrested because that person DIDNT pay to listen to my SONY stereo. LICENSES are a big rip off pain in the ass, way of getting you to pay for something when the actors or musicians dont want to work. Once ive bought something or a friend has bought something I SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO WHATEVER I LIKE WITH IT. If that is giving a song to a friend to listen to or a game to play so be it. Licenses should be abolished.

Thank you Capcom for making the effort to port these games to the PC. While many a PC purist may complain that these games aren't hardcore enough, I, for one, will purchase SF IV the day it comes out for the PC so that Capcom will keep porting more games. They have a solid track record of late when it comes to bringing high quality PC ports.

It's news like this that makes me happy to be a PC gamer.

Not everyone who has a PC pirates. I certainly know how to do it but I choose not too. I buy all of my games over the internet (to get posted to me) or through Steam. That way I can play more of a part in what games I consider good and ignore the bad. By never buying the games that they like people are lessening the chance of them getting more top quality products.

Woot, hail Capcom! So gonna go to the store to get SFIV the first day it releases.

@necrid88: You don't make any sense at all. I'm a heavy PC gamer since the late 80s, but I've also played in arcades since SF2 days. I probably spent more money on the arcade machines and early console games over the years more than what you have spent on whatever console you're playing now. How's that for a real fan eh? Talking about giving the real fans extras, I can name you probably ALOT more PC titles which should have remained PC exclusive but instead went multiplatform with consoles or totally never released on PCs at all or got heavily dumbed down for the casual console crowd games. You're in no position to complain about real fans getting extras when we have suffered alot more than you have. And not all PC gamers are pirates like you stereotype them to be. With the PC dead, your consoles will probably die off. What are you going to create a game off in the first place eh? without the C++ and 3D software. Your fingers?

@necrid88 u r implying PC gaming should be dead , so hence , u mean the pc altogether should be dead ... but u are forgetting the fact that every video game ever made has been developed on the PC ( maybe im wrong , i dont know ) and so , u take out PC gaming and u will be left with NO GAMING AT ALL

Friends, if you have the ability to experience GeForce 3D! It truly is the only way to fly! I cannot express the profound sense of depth this creates. Invest and you will be blown away. I don't use that phrase lightly!

Your logic doesn't make much sense. You are saying that you hate pc gaming but you which consoles in the future to be more like pc's?

Why is it "a lot harder and really expensive" to play console games for free? Last I checked, a stack of 100 DVD-R's is like $20. Another point, if you illegally download a game, you can't play it online on a PC, and if the developers really wanted to prevent piracy, I'm sure they'd put more effort into it.

Why do they still release games on the pc? Everybody just downloads them illigally anyway, so what profit do they make? On consoles it's a lot harder and could be really expensive to play games illigally for free.(lot's of things might go wrong then). They are also upgradeing it for the pc versions and adding extra's? Why don't they do that for the real fans that support them ,because they actually buy their products? I hope in the future PC gaming will be FINNALY dead, consoles will come with even more PC-like features, so that PC will step aside FOREVA!!!

@ Mikemaj82: We PC gamers already have the best games to play. We get them consistently every month. Cryostasis just came out this month. Prototype comes out soon as well. Many more. Plus all the older titles we're still playing.

These are just bonuses as they will be superior on PC in everyway to the other versions. $40 version for RE5 that looks and plays superior on PC (KB/Mouse) with more graphical bells and whistles? I'm in.
