Red Orchestra battles for free
Free trial for Battlefield-esque first-person shooter goes into effect August 2-7; full version of game downloadable through Steam.
It isn't too easy to recruit soldiers for war, as the whole "almost certain death" thing is a turnoff. As for recruiting war gamers, simply offer the experience for free and watch the platoons balloon. Tripwire Interactive today announced that its PC team-based first-person shooter, Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45, will be playable for free from August 2-7. Gamers will be able to download the full version of the game through Steam, Valve's digital download service. After the trial expires, Red Orchestra will return to its regular price of $24.99.
