UK Game Charts: November 27 to December 2

FIFA 07 remains top of the league as the holiday shopping rush begins.

EA has kept its tight grip on the top of the UK all-format chart, with FIFA 07 remaining at number one for the second week in a row. Need for Speed Carbon, the bookmakers' favourite tip for the top this Christmas, stays in FIFA's slipstream at number two, while The Sims 2: Pets continues to sell well, despite dropping down one place to five this week.

The rest of the top 10 is a hodgepodge of titles. Activision's Call of Duty 3 rises from seven to three, while Pro Evolution Soccer 6 moves up the table one place to four, thanks to the recent release of the PlayStation Portable version. Gears of War slides to six after two weeks in the top five, while Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy forces its way back up to seven. THQ holds firm at eight and nine with WWE SmackDown! vs. RAW 2007 and Cars respectively, while Ubisoft's Tom Clancy Rainbow Six Vegas is this week's highest new entry, sneaking in at 10.

The week's biggest mover is Happy Feet, which has rocketed into the top 40 at 18 after the recent release of its cinematic inspiration. Also soaring into the top 40 after failing to make the chart the previous week is Who Wants to Be a Millionaire: Party Edition, entering at 25. The other big mover of the week is Football Manager 2007, which surges 13 places to 17 after both PSP and Xbox 360 versions hit the shops.

However, it was not such good news for Nintendogs: Labrador and Friends. The game plummeted 13 places down to 26, the biggest drop of the week. It seems the Dalmatians are far more popular, with that edition of the game staying in the top 20.

As with last week, a number of high-profile releases, including Viva Piñata, haven't made it into the top section of the all-format chart. Yoshi's Island DS, Sonic Rivals, and Flushed Away also failed to make an impression on the week's top 40.

Next week could see a number of Wii games riding high in the charts, with The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Red Steel, and Wii Play among the most high profile. Rayman Raving Rabbids will also be let loose across a slew of different platforms, including the Wii, PlayStation 2, PC, and Game Boy Advance. But it remains to be seen whether any of them will be able to loosen the stranglehold EA has on the charts.

Hold on, I don't like Football and I'm English, but it is the national sport. I personally love playing Gears of War and RS Vegas.

Comments from ignorant inbreeds such as igorkharina and xtremeg4m3r don't help matters. Saying "UK gamers have no taste in good games" Gwyneth Paltrow was talking about people like you, well actually thats not true, she was talking about rich Americans with careers but hey the principle applies here. We invented taste you vulgar pigs, now F' off and shove a copy of Madden up you're A' !!! (PLEASE NOTE, THIS MESSAGE IS ONLY AIMED AT THOSE WHO HAVE DEMONSTRATED ILL MANNERS TOWARDS THE UK CONSUMER'S CHOICES OF PURCHASE)

Alot of British gamers have taste, but parents and people looking for one size fits all christmas presents go for stuff like fifa and need for speed as they are the most heavily advertised and safe bets for children.

I always try to sample different types of games such as wario ware and We love katamari and have never been dissapointed as I have had no expectations as to what I can expect.
I hope the wii has games like these in spades, just thought!
KATAMARI Wii, imagine how good that would be!
