    Jericho is alright
just glossy shader-ed down happy graphics
with gorey visuals, but the gameplay is excellent0
id still say painkiller is the ruler, it runs amazingly fast on modern machines, im playing the black edition, and everything maxed
its like playing quake 2 on this pc, hella fast, hella goreiful.

Demo was ok, fun to keep blowing up monsters with the different arsenal of weapons you start off with. I don't think the graphics are as horrible everyone makes it out to be. I would rank the game 7.0 out of 10. It would be hard for me to purchase this game over Jericho, along the same lines of horror fps. Jericho has a little bit more to offer with variety of different players, and impressive graphics.

Originally a community mod, Overdose is now a full-fledged production backed by DreamCatcher and JoWooD.
    ______

Go and look at Counter strike 1.6 that was a half-life mod when it first stated.... it didn't look any better when Valve endorsed it... Its not about the graphics all the time...

I hate to say it, but I'm a bit disappointed with the demo. I'm a huge fan of the original Painkiller, but the *feel* just isn't quite there from what I've experienced thus far. As a previous post stated, the gameplay is generally the same, but the biggest problem I have so far is with the sound and the feel of the weapons. The weapons themselves aren't bad, but there isn't a one of them that feels anywhere near as good as the chain gun or the stake gun in the original. The hit detection on the Painkiller-like weapon's secondary fire mode isn't aligned properly with the sound. My favorite weapons so far are the bombs that can be planted and set off remotely, which was a good idea to implement in a game like this, though you really don't have much time to be tactical about it. I made adjustments to my sound to see if the guns/explosions would sound any better, but nothing helped, and combat sounds helped make the original Painkiller great. I have no problem at all with the graphics since I really dig the look of game. As was also mentioned, there are some recycled enemies from the original, though some of the new ones are cool ideas. It doesn't seem fair to fully judge it based on two quick levels, so I'll stop, but you get the point.

Hmm.. First impressions from the demo:
    - Graphics engine exactly as the old Painkiller
    - Some monsters recycled
    - Menus/UI completely recycled from orig. Painkiller
    - Still great gameplay
    - Worse art direction
    - Slightly more annoying theme / devil speak
    - Probably not worth more than 20$

    whats graphics without awesome gameplay
bioshock is sweet but only being underwater in buildings is very much like doom 3, confined. plus they are as fast paced, all these new games all people want is graphics, i dont know why, maybe to have some sort of xen like granduer reality of their own?

I think they need to fix the storyline and the graphics up a bit
