Monster Madness afflicts gamers May 15

SouthPeak Games' four-player shoot-'em-up pushed back a month; PC, Xbox 360 game rated T for Teen.

Many high school students would probably rather face an invading horde of monsters than take final exams, and for the lucky foursome in SouthPeak Games' Monster Madness: Battle for Suburbia, it appears that will be the case.

The publisher has sent note that the release of the multiplayer shooter has been delayed from mid-April to May 15. The game is due out for the PC and Xbox 360 and is in development at Florida-based Artificial Studios.

In Monster Madness, up to four gamers can play the story mode cooperatively as suburban teens who must defend their town from an onslaught of vampires, werewolves, and other menaces. The tongue-in-cheek shooter also features competitive multiplayer for up to 16 players over Xbox Live.

Monster Madness: Battle for Suburbia is rated T for Teen. For more information, read GameSpot's previous coverage.

I played the demo and it was really fun, i cant wait for the game to come out. I pre-ordered mine at EB Games. It made me so mad when it was delayed, but now the time draws near again and i am stoked!

I'm looking forward to this, looks like it will be a good stress reliever. I'm really hoping for another hunter: the reckoning, but this should be fun...

They took what should have been XBLA game and turned it into a full-priced retail game, presumably because a higher price means more money.

Why stop there? Why not charge $100 for it? $200! ...Morons.

I agree with smiley170, while it does look like fun, anything over $39 seems overpriced to me.

I'm loving the return of old-skool that seems to be the trend lately, Alien Hominid, Castle Crashers, this... Now if only they would do a new R-Type, Gradius and Rayden as well, we would see some amazing old-skool shoot em up goodness...
