    I was soo angry when they basically neglected Brawl in this whole thing! Brawl was simply unmatched, and one of my favourite games that year.

    how can argue that mgs4 didnt deserve being GOTY because it was an exclusive than you off mentioning L4D. You're just going back on your logic. And GTA IV wasn't great. I didnt care about it until last month to finish it and i got that game day one. It was like every other gta. and it actually took out a lot. it was boring

    I don't play stealth action games, so MGS means nothing to me. =) And, GTA games are always fun.

    I knew once I saw MGS4 on the list it would win due to its outstanding game series history and graphics. If you haven't played 1 to 3 don't bother with it because you will be confused with the story. It's a story from 1 to 4. And not just individual gamestory telling.

    i start this game like 8 months ago....but only advance at laughing octupus boss...i stop playing there...is a fantastic game...i dont want to finish im....its ridiculous...but true---I LOVE MGS4

    I think MGS4 deserved it.....I've never played it...but it looks really, really good. From what they've said and what I've heard, it just sounds amazing. The Japanese make some good games don't they

    This isn't the "Game that Everyone played" award. This is the "Best game of the year" award. The one that was the best, no matter how many people played it.

    MGS4 won because it was the best game of the year.

    This game deserved the award, easily. It's not just an accomplishment when it comes to video games, it's a landmark title simply in terms of how a story can be told. I never felt that I was taken out of MGS4's world, or that what I was experiencing at any given moment in the game wasn't downright incredible. MGS4 is the best title of 2008, and one of the best games ever made.

    imo, GTA IV > MGS.. nothing against MGS but the reason i said GTA IV is it was available on all 3 platforms. MGS was just out there for PS3. yes it was a great game. but how can it be game of the year, when other gamers didn't had the chance to play it because they don't have PS3... so it should be GTA imo. if they wouldnt agree for GTA due to problems it had, then i guess L4D maybe. The point is, you cant pick a game as game of the year when most gamers did not had the chance to play it.

    Wow you people who say it shouldve came to the 360 why dont you fanboys WAKE THE FU** UP?!?!?! Its been an exclusive since number one and its not gonna stop there. In case you 360 fanboys forgot ps3 not only came out after 360 they got better exclusives and actually work on the graphics and try to make it look the best ever unlike microsoft. MGS4 is a pure ps3 game and always will be

    I LOVED MGS4 but felt kind of awkward at first with Octo Camo and not changing to start menu and manually doing it myself. Anyone else feel that way?

    too bad mgs4 is ps3 exclusive. sounds like a very good game with a story in it. games should be like this like mass effect and gta 4.

    This is about the only reason I would own a PS3. 1 reason isnt worth the $400+ price tag tho. Ill wait for it to come to 360 or PC in a couple years.

    u know what. this game is the best game i have ever played. not my favorite, but the best. can anyone out there say anything thats bad about mgs4. didn't think so. if you did, look it up and you'll find your wrong. gow2, i've played it, it's not bad. but who out there can say i didn't like this, this, this, and this. exactly my point. when you play mgs4, you don't think about the good things about it. you just feel that it's... right, or normal. that's why you punks out there that don't know what the f your saying need to f off. i mean, i'm not trying to be a jack @$$. i'm just saying you are. i have lots of friends at my school that say that cod4 is better, and that fc2 is better, and ac is better and bfbc is better and i just want to shoot them down and throw them down a well. i say "why do you think it's better?" they say "it just is."... that's detailed for ya! (that's their way of saying it's not but they want it to be. and for god knows what reason. all you mother f-ers out there that say this is a bad game. why? why do you think it's a bad game. now let me tell you why you favored game IS a bad game ( or at least worse). anyways, not trying to be a fanboy but this game is the best game ever made. not my favorite, but the best.

    wow, positive comments on gamespot! I don't own a PS3 but god I wish I did, just to play MGS4. I like movie-games, there's no reason why a great game can't have a great story behind it.
