Left 4 Dead Cheat Codes

Developers Console Cheats

At the main menu, select "Options," then "Keyboard/Mouse." Enable "Allow Developers Console." During gameplay, press "~" to access the console. Type in "Sv_Cheats 1" and press "Enter" to enable the cheats. Then, enter any one of the following:

Cheat Effect
boom Spawns a active pipebomb under you.
director_force_panic Forces a panic event
director_no_human_zombies 0/1 Disables/enables controllable Boss Infected on any map
director_no_mobs <1/0> No mob rushes
director_panic_forever 0/1 Enables/Disables never ending panics.
director_stop Shuts off all wanderers, mobs, specials, and bosses
fire Spawns a lighted molotov right on the floor under you.
firstperson Play in first person (default); this cheat is only necessary if thirdperson mode is enabled
give ammo Full Ammunition
give autoshotgun Gives auto shotgun
give first_aid_kit gives you first aid kit
give gascan gives gascan
give health gives full health
give hunting_rifle gives hunting rifle
give molotov gives molotov
give oxygentank gives oxygen tank
give pain_pills Gives pain pills
give pipe_bomb gives pipebomb
give pistol Get Pistol
give propanetank gives propanetank
give rifle Gives you an Mk 47 (machine gun)
god Invincibility
noclip Toggles No Clipping Mode
retry You can unlock achievements while using cheats (after entering sv_cheats 1, enter retry so that it will restart the game with the cheats on)
sb_friendlyfire <1/0> Sets whether or not bots (and only bots) are allowed to do firendly fire damage
sv_infinite_ammo 1 Unlimited Ammunition
thirdperson Sets the camera to be in third person mode.
thirdpersonshoulder Sets the camera to over-the-shoulder third person mode
thirdperson_mayamode Sets the camera to be fixed in place while in either third person or third person shoulder mode. Enter once to turn on and enter again to turn off.
tongue_range <#> (Default 750) Sets the maximum range of the smoker's tongue attack
z_common_limit Sets the maximum amount of regular zombies
z_frustration_lifetime <#> Sets the number of seconds until the player loses control of the Tank from not attacking survivors
z_health Change Zombie Health
z_spawn <bossname> spawns a special infected (infected names:hunter,boomer,smoker,witch,tank)
z_spawn boomer Spawns boomer at location of crosshair
z_spawn hunter Spawns hunter at location of crosshair
z_spawn mob spawns a zombie horde
z_spawn smoker Spawns smoker at location of crosshair
z_spawn tank Spawns tank at location of crosshair
z_spawn weapon_SMG Gives you the SMG.
z_spawn zombie Spawns 1 Zombie
z_speed Change Zombie Speed
z_tank_health <#> Sets the maximum health of the Tank
z_witch_allow_change_victim <1/0> True/False setting that allows the witch to change targets instead or focus on the one survivor that alerted her first
z_witch_burn_time Amount of time before a burning Witch dies from fire (does not affect damage caused by fire)
z_witch_damage <#> Sets the amount of damage a Witch's attack does.
impulse 101 Gives Ammo To Your Primary Weapon
buddha 1 just like god but you receive damage(sometimes if you are the only survivor left you can't receive damage from infected)
z_pounce_damage X amount of damage you want to do to survivors
sb_give XXXX x= desired entity to give to your bot teammates (the console should give you a list)
tongue_fly_speed X x= amount of speed that you want for the smoker's tongue to fly
z_pounce_door_damage X x= desired amount of damage to pounce through doors
sb_openfire or open_fire (console will tell) makes your bot teammates shoot nonstop
Ent_Remove Removes All Bots

Pyrotechnician Blow up 20 Infected in a single explosion.
Akimbo Assassin Survive a campaign firing no guns other than pistols.
Dead Baron Survive the Dead Air campaign.
Towering Inferno Light a Tank with a Molotov.
Jump Shot Headshot a Hunter while he's leaping.
101 Cremations Set 101 Infected on fire.
Mercy Killer Survive the No Mercy campaign.
No-One Left Behind Beat a campaign with all 4 Survivors.
Blind Luck You or another Survivor take no damage after being vomited on by a Boomer.
My Bodyguard Protect any Survivor from an attacking Infected 50 times.
Tongue Twister Kill a Smoker who has grabbed you with his tongue.
Dead Stop Punch a Hunter as he is pouncing.
Drag and Drop Rescue a Survivor from a Smoker's tongue before he takes damage.
Cr0wnd Kill a Witch with a single headshot.
Untouchables No Survivors take damage after contacting the rescue vehicle.
Field Medic Heal 25 Survivors with a first aid kit.
Pharm-assist Give pain pills to 10 Survivors.
Helping Hand Revive 50 incapacitated Survivors.
Hero Closet Rescue a Survivor trapped in a closet.
Hunter Punter Shove a Hunter off of a pinned and helpless Survivor.
No Smoking Section Kill 10 Smokers as they are pulling helpless Survivors.
Do Not Disturb Sneak past all Witches in a campaign without disturbing one.
Man vs Tank Single-handedly kill a Tank.
Tankbusters Kill a Tank without it dealing any damage to a Survivor.
Safety First Play through a campaign with no Survivors taking friendly fire damage.
Unbreakable Beat a campaign without ever using a first aid kit on yourself.
Witch Hunter Kill a Witch without any Survivor taking damage from her.
Red Mist Kill 1000 Infected with a mounted machine gun.
Dead Giveaway Heal a fellow Survivor when your own health is below 10.
Ground Cover Save another Survivor from a Special Infected while on the ground.
Clean Kill Shove a Boomer and then kill him without him splashing on anyone.
Stand Tall Survive a campaign without being incapacitated.
Back 2 Help Leave a safe room to save an incapped teammate and bring them back
Zombicidal Maniac Survive any campaign on Impossible.
What Are You Trying To Prove? Survive all campaigns on Impossible.
Lamb 2 Slaughter Incapacitate a Survivor after he has entered and exited a safe room.
Nothing Special Survive a campaign with no Survivors taking damage from Specials.
Burn the Witch Light a Witch with a Molotov.
Spinal Tap Kill an Infected with a single blow from behind.
Stomach Upset All Survivors complete a campaign without being vomited on.
Brain Salad Make 100 headshot kills.
Toll Collector Survive the Death Toll campaign.
Grim Reaper Survive the Blood Harvest campaign.
Barf Bagged Cover four Survivors with Boomer bile at once.
Big Drag Drag a Survivor x distance with your tongue.
Chain Smoker Constrict two Survivors on one life as a Smoker.
Double Jump Pounce two different Survivors on one life as a Hunter.
All 4 Dead Kill all four Survivors on one life as a Tank.
Dead Wreckening Dole out 5000 total Survivor damage as a Special Infected.
Last Stan Complete one round of Survival on The Last Stand.
Bronze Mettle Earn a Bronze medal in Survival mode on any official level.
Silver Bullets Earn a Silver medal in Survival mode on any official level.
Violence Is Golden Earn a Gold medal in Survival mode on any official level.
Distinguished Survivor Earn at least a Bronze medal on every official Survival level.
Heroic Survivor Earn at least a Silver medal on every official Survival level.
Legendary Survivor Earn a Gold medal on every official Survival level.
