Gostown Paradise is a scratch-made total conversion for Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. It needs a 1.0 version of that game to work correctly. Installation is automated to avoid problems, but you sometimes have to map clean depending on your system.

i get an "invalid IDE reference" error in the loading screen when i try to start a new game (or load a previously saved game). The recommendation is "input the IDE reference used in your Binary IPL." i have no idea what that means. i installed this mod onto a fresh install of San Andreas. What's the problem?

I figured out how to allow cheats, and brightness adjuster just keep the original d3d9 then when you are done with installing replace the new with the old one

i agree, whats the point of an entirely new map without any missions. they could have at least left the cheat engine on so we could have some real fun. oh well i just have to find a way to reactivate the cheats so im not bored out of my mind the next time i install this.
oh and your welcome, i was happy to help you with your problem.

OK, clean mapping got it to work. Outside of the annoying fact the brightness adjustment has been disabled, it looks very nice. The foliage and brick buildings have a lot of character. But one question remains: is there anything to DO? i assumed conversion meant that it was the same game, but redone with the new look. That's not the case at all. It's a small map with no pickups, missions, side-missions, or anything else to speak of. Yes, there's a bomb shop, but i hardly see the point. i trust there'll be a lot more to it after its beta stage, a fact which is also not mentioned in the posted description.

A map cleaner program! It all falls into place. Thanks much. And i must check out this GTA Garage. Chances are i was there back when Vice City or even II was new, but not since. It would have been nice if the fellow who posted this was a little clearer about the concept of map clean, but i suppose it's assumed most people here are in the know. Thanks again.

it means you have to get a program from gta garage called "map cleaner"(obviously) that will delete all the map files and dff and txds so they dont interfere with new map. and no its not a stupid question.

This may be a dumb question, but, what does "map clean" mean? Is this why the mod crashes the game, because i haven't "mapped clean"?
