I get that...I really do.... But should I really have to pick up my mouse and scroll it across my mousepad like 4 times just to turn 90 degrees WHILE standing still?(I understand you should turn slower while moving forward). I love the game, I just find it hard to actually navigate the ship with my mouse turning SO SLOW. I have sensitivity all the way up, and vsync off.

Is this just a problem on my side, or does everyone have to do vastly exaggerated movements just to turn the slightest bit?

I kinda have the same problem. I can't stand the mouse, I read all the reviews about it, so I started the game knowing mouse would be different. But shooting is terrible with this set up. As soon as u're in aim mode movements are no longer fluid, it's very jerky. So it shifts from fluid to jerky non-stop. How can I get used to this crap?

I actually jacked my resolution up to 1280x1024 or whatever the highest fullscreen setting in the game is, and the mouse problem is better. Give it a shot whoever else dislikes the speed of the mouse.

I would just like to reiterate for anyone who is having problems with mouse speed, this has completely fixed my problem, and has made this game AMAZING. One of the best games ive played, and now im torn between Far Cry 2, and this. And I have to finish both so i can start fallout 3!! =( Good game overload!

this is why you don't buy PC games that were made for consoles

I have the exact same problem, aggravated by the fact that my desk area is too small. It's almost unplayable. When I read people here saying "OMG ur so nub dis is not a fps it's a tps and a special one at that the controls are perfect lrn2play" I want to punch them in the face

I'd suggest getting the 360 Controller for Windows if you're having problems with the kb/m. I heard the kb/m controls were crap for this game, so I picked up a USB adapter at Best Buy so I could use my wireless 360 controller. I haven't touched the keyboard while playing yet. It handles great on what it was designed for.

Incase you didnt read, I fixed the problem and it works perfectly fine on the PC(what it was made for), and without a gamepad. So please stop being elitists and complainers, whichever category you apply to.

Peace, and gluck in the game.

I play at 1680x1050, sensitivity maxed (200dpi mouse), vsync off and it's still slow as hell. Any more ideas?

Its supposed to be slow. Just play and realize that youre never gonna have THAT many monsters coming at you. Half of the difficulty is being able to turn to see your enemy, which is odd, but adds to the scary factor.

YEs, the Developers have stated again and again it's a GAME FEATURE.

try searching for mouse this question has been answered by me and many others. The game is broken, but its easy to fix.

the vsync is seriously broken for this game. disable it and use your video cards control panel to force vsync. if you play the game w/o vsync you'll run into a whole new set of problems.

Try vsync on for the card and vsync off for the game. Then set the mouse sensitivity up high. That's what i did and i got used to it after playing for a lil while. Now it's pretty good.

Just as a note, you're not going to have as much flexibility or maneuverability as a first person shooters. It just wasn't made that way or was it meant to be.

It's not a GAME FEATURE unless controller users have to let go of the stick and let it reset to neutral 4 times to complete 1 90 degree turn to the left.

Regardless of it being an intentional feature to build suspense/challenge/whatever, it's a poor way of doing it.

Yes, we understand that our character isn't supposed to be a quick-draw combat veteran who spins circles while aiming perfectly, so for those of you that keep blurting that out, don't bother. We're not asking for a Doom experience. However FORCING us to aim THAT slowly isn't the only way of showing that. From the beginning of first person shooters we have realized that spinning fast circles isn't the best way to make precision shots.

If the developers just wanted to emphasize the suspense or challenge, they could've just slowed it down just a bit (like most games do when in ironsight mode) and made the shots very innaccurate or have a wide spread while moving quickly. We would've adjusted our spinning speed on OUR OWN, but most importantly to our comfort level.

If anything, forced features like this only break the immersion of a game because it just makes it that much clearer we're playing someone's program rather than OUR character.

I'm pretty sure the slow mouse movment is meant to imitate real life. dunno how it works with controllers, but so far I'm actually enjoying the mouse control. the fact that you are unable to move so quikcly makes combat A LOT more scary.

are you guys playing to kill or to have a fun/scary experience? cause I can assure you that if you forget about the controls and focus about staying alive rather than killing-stuff-very-fast then you'll enjoy the game as I do!

Imokhh how am i supposed to even begin to immerse myself in the experience when I have to lift my mouse up off of the desk and reset it half a dozen times just to look behind me?

Here's an idea imokhh, let me help make the "experience" even better for you. Go into your windows control panel and turn your mouse speed all the way down then go into the games options and turn the mouse speed all the way down there too. See that? Now I made the "experience" even better for you! If you can find a mousepad small enough you might have to pick up your mouse and recenter it hundreds of times just to turn around and look behind you. Imagine how exciting that experience will be!

your problem, then. saying the game is broke when *you* can't play it right (while so many others can) is just wrong. I'm not telling you how to play the game, as you should obviously do whatever fits you. but if you bought the game and you can't enjoy it because it's hard for you to move the mouse a little faster then that's a shame.

no need to be sarcastic either. I'm not here to bash anyone. I just wanted to share my thoughts on the matter, and no one is forced to agree with me.

cheers, and I hope everyone will find a way to enjoy their game.
