New player models coming for Counter-Strike: Source

Valve also reveals that a rebuilt cs_militia map, Day of Defeat: Source update also imminent.

In a posting on its official Steam Web site, Valve software announced that it hadn't called it quits for the holidays just yet. Two new player models for Counter-Strike: Source will be released this week, and there's a chance of a Day of Defeat: Source update also arriving in time for the holidays. Looking slightly into the future, Valve is planning to release a completely rebuilt version of the Counter-Strike map cs_militia in the new year.

Exlusiveburner / revthegod has no clue what he is talking about (They got owned too much i guess) ... And stubbornTH has a point, this game is awsome. And updates are allways welcome as well. I was getting tired of the old skins any way. Soon it will be allmost perfict like it's predecessor (in my opinion) and i hope it will be even more popular that it's predecessor(hopefully )

Notice how the conversation has completely left the news post?

Anyway, should be an interesting update for the fans currently playing.

Counterstrike is all about strategy, to someone who doesnt play it that much it may seem simplistic but its all about pin-point accuracy and working well as a team. Its sucha solid game to begin with, stop worrying about making another one, i personally would rather have them tweak the one they have now into the best possible game

How is this in any way significant? Yes, new maps are awesome, but I suck at them, so I'm bitter. Just give me my dust and dust_2 and I'm happy. Valve is hardly doing anything by releasing player skins, they just want to appear to be doing new things. I'd like a more substantial release, i just can't think of it yet.

It's about time. Valve should add a lot more weapons very soon. An L-85 would be pretty nice.

I'm already used to 5 different player models, but a new militia map is awsome. Valve just own. Hard.

Counter-Strike is the best shooter ever - pity they screwed it a bit with source - why bring new stuff to a crappy game - just make a new game with perfect gameplay

    Good news

By the way, it is almost definite that THERE WILL NOT BE ANOTHER COUNTER-STRIKE (after counter-strike:source) UNTIL HALF-LIFE 3 (which has been confirmed).

So, yeah. Just wanted to make that clear.

I loved cs_militia and confused it with de_nuke and I was disappointed when I joined my first game. Yeah, I liked nuke but militia was one of my favorites. Can't wait for the new models and map.

There is no such thing as Counter Strike 2! CS:Source is the sequel to CS and that's how it will stay for years, don't get your hopes up for CS 2 which it won't even be called that. CS: Source is as good as being CS2 right now. Do you see them developing a new engine?! When Valve create a new engine there'll be another CS probably with the engine name tagged on to the end of it.

Finally! My favorite CS map of all time comes to Source. Now if they would just make dod_caen for DoDS we'd be in business.

    silversklsim:

Counter-Strike: Source is not Counter-Strike 2. It's been stated that Counter-Strike: Source is a REMAKE of the original mod, made with the Source engine. That's why it has all the old maps and weapons.

Bring the graphics up to par? Have you been smokin' crack? CS:S still has some of the best graphics around! (FEAR is the only thing I've seen that comes close.)

Every time I play I'm in awe of what Valve has done. Upgrade your cpu and video card and take another look dude.
