    All you have to do is download 1.6 - 1.7 to play online, 1.6 is only a Repatch of 1.1 - 1.5 and a few maps. and 1.7 to stay up to date.

    Do I need the original CoD4 disk to use this patch,because I have a copy of the original?

    You know why they don't do a comprehensive patch is because there really isn't enough to correct at one time. There isn't very much wrong so they just do it one bit at a time.....

    it is not neccessary to download this patch to play cod4 there is a thriving community on 1.6. If you want it is possible to make a copy of you 1.6 game and then download this patch and use both versions.

    why cod 4 does not have history options in multiplayer like they have in steam .it helps the player to see as in which server he played previously so that he can add to favourite if he wants .

    OMG i watched a vid on youtube downloaded 4 parts did wht he said and i downloaded MP! i can now play private servers and im dling this woot

    COJAX22 - To play online, you just need to have the most recent patch (1.7). HOWEVER, with this game, there are new maps released in patch 1.6 so download both, install 1.6 first, then 1.7 and you'll be fine. Also, make sure your Punkbuster is up to date or most servers will kick you.

    when anyone can get to this email me at snowmanmoser@hotmail.com i have a problem with cod4 everytime i go on a server every 30 sec. to 1 min. i get kicked by punkbuster when i get kicked it says server communication error what does that mean and what can i do to make it stop plus i updated it just yesterday

    @JALAY

    Yes you will need to have the 1.6 patch already installed to install the 1.7 patch, you would've known this if you went to the official Infinity Ward website

    i am downloading this patch of first time and dont hav any previous patch for E.g. 1.4 - 1.5...... so on will i able to play ?? or will i need all previous patches pls help

    Too many patches, just make a big one next time Activision, or compile the current ones into a big patch. Hate downloading several patches after re-installing.

    When they keep releasing patch after patch for a game, it would be nice if every 5 th patch or so they would make an incremental file for the ones that just needed one part, and a "complete" patch to cover those of us that might have bought it later, or had to reformat like I just did. Its a lot easier to get one giant download and run it once than it is to babysit your computer through 7 smaller downloads......
