First look: Betty Bad
Former Quake III Arena artist Paul Steed is developing WildTangent's upcoming third-person shooter.
Game artist Paul Steed, best known for his work on id Software's popular first-person shooters Quake II and Quake III Arena, is developing WildTangent's upcoming sci-fi third-person shooter, Batty Bad. The browser-based 3D game stars a female bounty hunter who must hunt down and capture a variety of dangerous aliens.
WildTangent was founded in 1998 by Alex St. John, the creator of DirectX, and mathematician Jeremy Kenyon. The company is dedicated to creating browser-based 3D game technology. Its proprietary Web-driver technology lets users play streaming games without having to download and install the games. Steed was attracted to WildTangent by the opportunity to work with small development teams, as well as the company's shorter development cycles.
Betty Bad is nearing completion at WildTangent and is scheduled for release on November 15.
