Battlestrike to wage war on PCs
Upcoming WWII shooter announced by City Interactive; cybersoldiers fight on foot, in tanks, and in planes.
According to its company Web site, Polish game developer City Interactive is working on a new WWII shooter titled Battlestrike: The Road to Berlin. The PC game is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2005.
The arcade shooter drops players right into the thick of war, with stages placing gamers behind the turret of a tank, at the controls of a fighter plane, and on foot. The 16 missions will take place in various locations and multiple types of weather, from snow-covered town outskirts to a sweltering summer in the war-torn cities of Europe. Authentic WWII units will be featured in the game, including the P-51 Mustang plane, the Springfield sniper rifle, and Hitler's Wunderwaffe superweapons.
City Interactive's previous efforts include the PC titles Terrorist Takedown and Space Interceptor: Project Freedom.
We'll have more on Battlestrike: The Road to Berlin as details are announced.
