Battlefield 2 prepping Deluxe Edition?

Online retailers list special edition of EA's military shooter; publisher neither confirms nor denies existence.

It's not uncommon for popular PC games with expansions to be repackaged with a "special edition" label, so it was no surprise that a Battlefield 2: Deluxe Edition product page sprang up on both EBGames.com and GameStop.com.

There's no word on what the package will include (if it indeed exists), and the two sites have different ship dates for the package, March 27 and May 2. A likely candidate for inclusion would be the Battlefield 2: Special Forces expansion that was released last November. Both sites list the Deluxe Edition as selling for $49.99. The original Battlefield 2 is currently selling for $49.99, and the Special Forces expansion has a $29.99 price tag.

The Battlefield franchise is no stranger to bundles and special editions--Battlefield 1942 Deluxe Edition included 1942 and the Road to Rome expansion; the World War II Anthology included 1942 and two expansion packs; and The Complete Collection contained all the 1942 and Vietnam expansions.

When contacted for confirmation, reps from EA simply said that there has been no announcement of a Deluxe Edition. For more information on the games, check out the reviews of both Battlefield 2 and the Special Forces expansion.

Some people here are still running MX's >__>.
    BF1942 killed Team Fortress 2.
BF2 is buggy as hell, but it's enjoyable if you don't have to play with tards.

They should release a Battlefield 2 bug free edition. This is the buggiest game I've ever played let alone the crashes horribly upset the gameplay.

Ok to few i have seen only if you have a really crappy vid card and i don't mean not newage but just like an old card it wont run it and well duh it wont run at full settings you have to tweak the graphics to make it run right on your setup, wont look as good as better setups but still looks nice. I noticed someone said wihat the point of these expansion packs are is to bog the game down more? no this wont touch the game in that way its just adding more maps i for you to select to play oh Saboya said only way to run battlefield 2 is with a good machine from 07 that does not exsit well sorry to say i'm playing that game with most of the graphics on high with a dated 9800pro and that card is a few years old so no you don't have to have a super machine from 07 to run this game.

I love battlefeild2, but I hate how long it takes, to start up, login, load map, teh its glitchy as hell! Why dont the make it run without a disk, and log you in auto? so lame...
Anyway, i dont see what the point of these expansion packs are. To bog the game down more? The only real way you canb play battlefeild with no gliches is by a kick ass machine of 2007 which dont exist...

I got bored with the Battlefield series just after Battlefield Vietnam was released.

I liked BF Vietnam, but I just got bored with the style of play.

The rounds in the games were way too long. Matches typically went for 20 minutes, and you'd get servers that would rotate the maps every 3 matches, so basically I just got bored with the length of the matches and the amount of time spent in the same map region.

Favourite multiplayer shooter was Wolfenstein, then Enemy Territory was released and all the Wolf servers died and I quit playing. Wolfenstein had perfect multiplayer, didn't need to be changed. I did love playing the Goldrush mod though!
