    Hey, for those of you that like Combat Arms, you should try out Operation 7.

    Pretty damn good as far as free online shooters go.

    Don't bother with Combat Arms. The game got potential, but it's plagued with glitchers and hacking of all kinds, I had to look for servers constantly looking for one without people being under the floor shooting at you right after spawning, it's that bad, plus no votekick function only makes things worse. Nexon tries to deal with them with patches and tweaks, but they just delay the problem, eventually people bypass their fixes and kill the fun of the game. Many old time CA old school players already left because of how things got pathetic, I just uninstalled it weeks ago to get some free space. My tip: play Urban Terror. Got the same customization (better system I'd say), big active community, and not ridden with bugs and glitches. Urban Terror is easily missing in this list as well.

    An old free game I've been playing lately is Continuum (aka Sub Space). It's a multi-player 2D space shooter that's pretty fun.

    I played Alien arena and warsow, and a lot of fee games, theyre really cool to play, in fact yo dony know why they put such amazing games for free!!!!, I love free stuff!!!

    Guys, if a game isn't on this list it doesn't mean it wasn't worthy. This series is about 12 games in a particular category (in this case, online action games) that span a variety of gameplay styles. Don't assume that other games aren't worthwhile or that we aren't aware of them (trust me, I am quite familiar with many many other free online action games, including the classic Enemy Territory). Rather, we tried to run the gamut, including DM-oriented sci-fi FPSs, tactical space action, cartoony shooting, team-based terraforming, Mech combat, stylish wallrunning, and a lot more. Hopefully, everyone can find something that suits them from this eclectic list.

    I'm currently hooked on Savage. Better hope you don't have a lot of packet drops though. That tends to glitch things up a little. That aside, as long as you have a commander that knows what he's doing, and you play as a team, it's an excellent venue.

    I used to play most of those games - Alien Arena ; Nexuiz (i loved the grappling hook-thingy ). Tremilous and WOP didnt really grab me but I was really psyched on Gunz up until they made that tedious web browser launcher.But WTF gamespot you forgot Warsow and Urban Terror - so insulting seeing that I still have UrT on my hard drive and play it from time to time,and I used to spend a couple of hours a day in Warsow servers

    i dont understand why they included world of padman. i downloaded it but i came to the realization when i looked at the menus that this is for 13 year olds looking for a way to look at "hot" girls. but ente must not know the differance between pretty and just plain vulgar. seriously gamespot, youre better than that

    I have Combat Arms and let me tell you, it is definitely one of the greatest free MMO-FPS games I have played. And when you play this it makes you wonder, "Why did Nexon makes this free?" Sure the rental of guns and gear get a little annoying sometimes, but it doesn't matter. It looks great, there are a lot of people,and it is just plain addicting.

    For free mmorpg fans. I really liked Shaiya and Anarchy Online. First is fantasy and second is sci-fi. Shaiya is much more simple and the community is cool. It also has excellent graphics for a free mmorpg. Anarchy Online's graphics are not as good, but it's much more rich and complex. Actually, it can be very complex if you never played a mmorpg before. Gameplay is very varied and the map is very big... though kind of empty.
