This looks unique, I'll keep an eye on this for sure. I just hope it will be released in the first quarter of the next year. This game has been in development since 2005.

I really like psychological thrillers, there are alot of twists and turns, I just hope it doesn't turn out like alone in the dark did.

Looks interesting, I like the idea of using the light and a gun to defeat your enemies. Story will be interesting.

looking good. Although, kind of wish there were no guns at all. Be nice if they went really radical and made your ONLY weapon the light...like it seemed they would in that teaser with the lighthouse...

@Merc_Scar - Yeah just like every other sloppy ass console exclusive 360 has like GoW, Halo 3, Bioshock(back when it was exclusive) and Left 4 Dead. All 360 games are made on the PC and then ported to the 360, just like every PS3 game is also made on the PC first.
And theres not a single developer out there that is making a PC/X360 game that is going to put more effort on the PC version since it will sell a fraction of the 360 sales. Its not 2001 anymore, Its the console versions that are the highest priority when making games now. Also Alan Wake has been in development for 5years so i dont think there will be anything sloppy about it especially coming from Remedy.

They used Sam Lake's face and likeness for Max Payne in the first Max Payne game. Now whenever I see him, I just think "That's Max Payne!"

The fact they say it's a 360 exclusive makes me think it's gonna be a sloppy ass console port.

Sam Lake is the man. I didn't expect him to sound like that, I thought he would sound American (Yes, i know he is Finnish). Wish he worked on Max Payne 3... What a shame, still looks good though.

First of all: OH MY GOD THIS GIRL IS SO DAMN CUTE I'M TOTALLY IN LOVE I'LL DIE HERE! *-*

Anyway... Sam Lake is awesome and I really trust him for this game. I think there should be more guys like him... real "game writers" and all. Sometimes it feels like producers see video games as just pure fun... actually, it could also be the most complete form of art considering that it includes everything from cinema (visuals, sounds and story) and adds interaction which is very complex in terms of passing feelings and messages...

    @isnot-important

they originally started to develop this for X360 and PC, but the tech demo videos (don't remember where) were shown on PC with the support of Intel and NVIDIA, so i think the game engine has heavy PC roots.

and it's developed (made) by Remedy. Microsoft is "just" publishing it.

isnot-important is right, this game isn't an Xbox 360 exclusive. It is being released for PC and was covered in this month's PC Gamer UK.

Labor of love, heck yeah Sami! I love Remedy!

    Long live Max Payne

It's not Xbox 360 exclusive..He doesn't even say exclusive, he says "we are working on Xbox" - Check the page you are looking at to watch the clip...It says "Also on PC"
    http://au.gamespot.com/pc/action/alanwake/index.html

It's made by Microsoft games..You really think they'd limit themselves to the money they can make by only releasing it on Xbox?...haha
Even if it comes to Xbox first, it would be ported to PC fairly quickly.

Since when is it Xbox 360 exclusive?

  • biggest_loser

    Posted Jun 29, 2009 1:52 am PT

Well that didn't reveal anything new. I hope Sam Lake incorporates a lot of mythology and subtext relating to dreams and the imagination. Also how cute is Laura?! Go Laura go!
