Welcome to Beta Email?

I played the open beta a few months back, but I have been refusing to pay to play the Beta. Today, I got an email welcoming to the Beta. I am confused. Does this mean I am invited to the closed Beta without having to pay and they just unlocked access to my account? I plan on trying to login when I get home from work, but I was curious if anyone else was in the same situation as I am?
