Parappa the Happy Rapper Knee-Slapper Mad-Hatter from Mad Jappon (Japan is a strange place)

i'm surprised this game was no more than a sleeper hit, because charm really sells, and Parappa delivers that in spades. you play as - you guessed it - Parappa the dog, whose way of solving problems is saying to himself - 'yeah, i know! i gotta believe!' and rapping his way through. you know, that's what i do sometimes. it's a rhythm game where the player makes the lyrics happen by pressing the buttons in time. there are only 6 stages in the game, but it's last 2 stages are goddamn difficult. at least in my experiences. Cheep Cheep is actually quite easy, easier than Mooselini the driving instructor. in the original version, at least, the PS4 port has some serious input delay issues in Cheep Cheep Chicken's level. and this game is funny. from Joe Chin, to PJ unable to speak when he sees a fancy car, to the unintentional stuff like the way the audience 'screams' at the concert. wAaAOOOOOA! and the instrumentals are damn good. listen to the instrumentals for Cheep Cheep's Seafood Cake & the driving course. they're the best ones if you ask me. the lyrics are cheesy, and it just adds to the game's charm. this is still a good game, over 25 years later.
