People say this is a "kiddy" game. It could be that it is Mario, I grew up playing Mario games and as long as they stick to the tried and true theme they can do no wrong. As it is, I love the look and sound of the game, there is nothing childish about it, it is Mario. The graphics are good, while not great they have a good style to them that I like. I love the battle system; it is deep enough for any RPG and more fun than most to boot. The badge and level system is really neat too, it makes you choose between more HP, FP or BP, it does not just give you all three. While using BP for badges gives you special attacks and abilities. The story is what you would expect from a Mario game, save Princess Peach, with a few new twists, which is perfect. All is right in the world when I get to rescue her in a new game. The dialogue is great, characters are hilarious, and this is the first game to make me laugh out loud in a long time. It has a good length and plenty of secrets and side quests, one great thing is that there is a character in the game that will tell you the location of the "Star Pieces" and "Shine Sprites" one at a time for a small fee. It takes a bit of work but you don't need a strategy guide to even have an idea of where to begin looking. it’s Mario with good graphics a great battle system and a nice long story. Its just plain fun.
