With amazing writing, humor, wit as well as incredibly memorable characters, settings and music; TTYD is a classic.

It is simply incomprehensible to me how a game translated from Japanese can retain such a vast amount of humor and wit, unscathed from a Japanese to English translation. It doesn't matter whether you are a child or adult, the humor is always non-stop and the sundry of unique and fleshed out characters, despite being cartoonish looking, can be enjoyed by much higher than infantile minds.

To this day I can still vividly recall every single level, for simply how unique and wonderful they all are. You will go from a moving train, to an arena to a strange forest, and though each level the game never seems to lose its fun or charm. The soundtrack is also fantastic, and accompany the levels themselves flawlessly, serving as an extra layer of what makes each level so memorable.

To put it simply, TTYD is more than a game. It is an experience; one that will state with you long after you put the controller down. The music, the characters, the settings, they will all resonate in your mind for years to come. Despite being rather simplistic compared to most, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is one of the best RPGs I can ever say I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. There is no reason, why any human being on this planet shouldn't at least give this game a chance. Plus, the graphics have not aged that badly at all, considering everything is 2D, so there is absolutely no reason you should be discouraged from playing.

10 out of 10. Five stars out of five.
