I remember when the first Panzer Dragoon released on Saturn I loved it. The game offered excellent graphics for the time and outstanding arcade style shooting. Now, with Panzer Dragoon Orta, its all that same goodness but ramped up with incredible graphics, and something for your eyes and fingers to behold. What PDO does perfect is capture the arcade style shooting. Its exactly what it was, and exactly how it was made to be, which was not to be something that requires much needed skill. Its a straight shooter. "Orta" is actually the woman who rides the dragon. The story doesn't really make that much sense, but thats ok because the gameplay is friggin sweet. It may and will get frustrating, but at the end, its worth it because you feel like you accomplished something. You unlock a bunch of goodies over time and can even play the orginal Panzer Dragoon, which of course, now looks like crap. The thing that really breaks my heart is that no one played this game. Just like the Otogi series, this game is extremely underappreciated. Lets just hope some more people come across this game over time or come acorss the follow up. Because this IS a great game.
