It has many improvements, such as smoke and minefields from the first game in the series, panzer command operation winter storm. I also prefer the summer maps and rolling hills to the flatter snowbound terrain of the first game.
the biggest addition to the game is the new random campaing generator. not just random battles, but full semi-historical campaigns! linked scenarios where core forces travel from battle to battle. the generator picks historically accurate forces given some inputs from the user and spawns a linked set of battlles. tons of replay there.
all in all, i give panzer command kharkov a big thumbs up from Matrix games and koios
