Albatross18 is a great game that needs more attention.
The game itself is fairly simple and standard for a golf game. Start the meter, set the power by clicking/pressing space when the desired power is reached. Lastly, stop the bar as close to the "perfect accuracy" mark, or "Pangya", as you can. When taking the shot, you have to take into account elevation, spin, wind, and your club's trajectory. It all sounds very complicated, but to the beginner, it's not.
Later on you learn the two special shots, Tomahawk and Cobra. These are two of the things that make the game unique. The Tomahawk takes less wind effect, and does not bounce. It hits the ground and sticks, enabling you to be very accurate with shots. It's also the staple of getting good scores. The cobra is a bit less fancy. It hugs the ground, and rises up just before landing, letting you get underneath obstacles. Both shots require a few key inputs and also require you to hit perfect Pangya accuracy to accomplish.
There are also item effects in Albatross18. The Spin Mastery item allows you to apply massive amounts of backspin/forward spin to the ball. If you forward powerspin with a Spin Mastery on, you will gain 30-40 yards on your shot. Another item is, "Generic Lucky Pangya", which makes the perfect pangya marker slightly bigger.
You can also dress your characters and buy new ones to earn stats. All in all Albatross18 is a very immersive experience that you simply must try for yourself.
