Finally Warhammer 40,000 on the PSP

User Rating: 8.5 | Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command PSP
Squad Command is an excellent game that looks as good as it plays, for those who have played Dawn of War and expecting it to be like Dawn of War it is completely different, it is turned based just like table top. The game pits you as the Ultramarines against the Chaos Chapter the Word Bearers, for those that played the Windows 98 game Chaos Gate this should sound familiar. What makes this game so good is the customization of the units in your squad and the battlefield itself. Each of your squad members comes with a standard primary weapon which has unlimited ammo and a secondary weapons which is either a melee weapon or a powerful weapon with a set amount of ammunition, though you could add more it lowers the amount of action points available to the squad member. The squad members use action points to move and attack and for some weapons the amount of action points used to fire a weapon can be adjusted, the more action points in each shot gives it more accuarcy. The most amazing thing to me is the battlefield, you can virtually use any object for cover and that the terrain is destructible, the field is of a good enough size that you can use any tactics that you like. The controls to me flow with the gameplay it is easy to use the analog stick to move your units or target an opposing unit, while I have not tried the multiplayer, It sounds rather enjoyable. If you like any of the old Warhammer 40,000 games for PC or like table top Squad Command is the game for you.
