Adventure Game News Recap (Q4 '07)
- The first episode of Sam and Max: Season Two will be released worldwide on November 9, a day after the GameTap release. It will be titled Ice Station Santa. The second episode will be released two months later in January. The boxed version of Sam and Max: Season One is now available in U.S. stores. A DVD boxset of the cartoon series is currently in production by Shout! Factory.

- Adventure Lantern (the free online adventure gaming magazine) is finally back up and running. You can view and download the latest issue here.
- Fate by Numbers was released as a freeware adventure game recently. You can download this amazing FMV futuristic detective noir adventure at http://www.fatebynumbers.com/.
- The planned Penumbra trilogy has been cut down to two games. The sequel to Penumbra: Overture, titled Black Plague, will release in early 2008.
- CSI: Hard Evidence, which is being developed by Telltale Games, is now released on PC and Xbox 360, and will release for the Wii later this year.
- The Hardy Boys will have their own adventure game series, starting in early 2008. In other news, Nancy Drew now has her first game on the Nintendo DS.
- More adventure games have been added to GameTap (U.S. users). You can view a complete list I have compiled here.
- Secret Files: Tunguska and Agatha Christie: And Then There Were None are both being remade/rereleased for the Wii.
- New Video Trailers: A Vampyre Story, Experience 112, Culpa Innata
- Adventure releases this month: Zack and Wiki: Quest for Barbaros Treasure(Wii), Agatha Christie: Evil Under the Sun(PC), Ghost in the Sheet(PC), Culpa Innata(PC)

A great cheer to some publishers and developer groups initiative to launch free adventure games. It is an amazing but forgotten genre that must be resurrected. I saw recently another great initiative for example of Lucas Arts and Adventure Games of launching game packages that include 2, 3 or more old games in the same box at low price and sometimes graphic enhanced.
