Database Entry # 5

Shion Uzuki, this is gonna be a helluva Update...
Shion Uzuki, 22 years old, is the younger sister of Jin Uzuki and has been the driving character of the series thus far. I think I am in over my head with this one. Good thing I got my caffeine pills.
Shion grew up on Old Miltia with her father, mother, and brother. She had a nanny at the time, Febronia, who has since been a guiding force for Shion in both Episodes. Shion's mother was being treated at the Acute Neurosis Treatment Facility, but for what we do not know. A flashback in Episode 1 as the Tony brought the Elsa to the top of the Song of Nephilim revealed that Shion had seen that part of the structure before form her mother's patient-room window.
Her father, however, was a supervisor within the Federation's Ministry of Energy, whose main building was shaped like the Zohar. The Episode 1 database does not mention exactly what he did, but I am sure the same assumption is running through the collective heads of the entire Xenosaga fanbase.
It is believed that after the Miltian Conflict, the Uzuki siblings went to live with their grandparents on Second Miltia. This is apparently where the two learned their various martial arts techniques from their grandfather.
At the age of 18, Shion joined Vector's First R & D Division, and became the current Director's boyfriend. Kevin, however, was killed two years later in the infamous incident that was caused by...well, none other than Kevin if you believe he handed the Connection Gear to Cherenkov. Shion witness the entire thing and watched him die in her arms, and shortly thereafter terminated the first KOS-MOS. She immediately became the new Chief Engineer of the KOS-MOS Project at the age of 20 and has been working with the android the entire time.
In Episode 1 Shion's presumably normal life is suddenly changed when she is touched by a Gnosis during the destruction of the 117th Marine Fleet. However, unlike any other normal being, she remains unchaged. We witness Cherenkov's transformation, but Nephilim even makes mention of it, saying it is part of who she is.
In the KOS-MOS encephalon dive, Shion confronts Febronia and Nephilim. Febronia tells Shion about Cecily and Cathe, and from there on guides her to the end of Episode 2 where we see KOS-MOS destroy the two imprisoned girls and "set them free." This seems to have been Shion's most important role up to that point, but not her last.
During Albedo's intrusion into MOMO, the U.R.T.V. sees an image of Shion and KOS-MOS within the Y-Data, implicating that whatever grand scheme is being concocted by the powers that be (cough-wilhelm-cough) will involve the two characters further. Or, perhaps, the destruction of Cecily and Cathe was Shion's purpose and nothing more, but we all know that is not the case.
The conclusion of Episode 2 sees Shion and KOS-MOS, with Allen and Miyuki happily in tow, going home for a rest. Although Shion may see her part in this story complete, she will be pulled back in, and more than likely it will be against her will. But there are those who have everything depending on her accepting her fate and doing what she believes is right, with KOS-MOS by her side, and the help of her friends that she has made during the course of her adventures.
As chaos said, they all deserve a break. But the mystery that surrounds Shion, her past, and her future, will eventually pull her back into the struggle. Hopefully she has what it takes to face her upcoming trials. I think with a little help she'll be able to handle whatever comes her way.

Do you think Shion and Kevin did it?
Just playing. Anyway...I always looked at Shion the same way that I did Yuna, from Final Fantasy X. Shion is waaaaaaay too uptight.
Luckilly, X-2 came and Yuna was all free-spirited and junk. God, I love carefree women. Uh...where was I? Oh yeah. I\'m really kinda hoping the girl lightens up at some point during the next game. Don\'t dwell in the past. Bridges are made for burning. LIVE IN THE NOW! I\'ve got a hundred more of em, but I\'ll spare you all. Her and Allen..I don\'t see it going anywhere. She doesn\'t even pay him any attention and he refuses to be a man about it.
Kevin...
I hope he comes back and eliminates them all, cause destruction is awsome. Real good for ratings, although CNN has imploded quite a few times, and they can\'t manage to get any. Nah, I was just joking about all of that. I want Shion and Allen to fall in love, buy a house with nice computer generated picket fences, make lots of babies, and live happily ever after. The end.
