GameSpot's 48th Game Night will be held Tuesday, July 8th. We're playing Battlefield Bad Company for the 360 and PS3. Want to know more? Here are some details!
1. How do I get in on the action?
If you are playing on the Xbox 360, send a friends request to gsadmin3 (that will be me). If you are playing on the PlayStation3, send a friends request to shaunsavestokyo (that will be Shaun McInnis).
Bad Company is probably not the best game for a game night, but I wanted to give it a chance. Here's the issue: you can only create squads of four. Because of that, I want to make sure everyone joins the chat room (link below). If my squad is full, chat it up with others in the chat and make your own squads. Even if you don't get to play with me or Shaun, I still want everyone to enjoy themselves.
It is imperative that you join the chat room so I can communicate with all of you, which I'll open up around 6PM. We'll have loads of fun!
1A. I am from Mauritania. What time is that for me?
http://www.timezoneconverter.com/cgi-bin/tzc.tzc
2. Remind me—why are we doing this again?
For the fun of it! A lot of people want to play games that include GameSpot employees and other members of the community. For more information, take a look at the GameSpot Game Night FAQ.
3. What mode will we be playing?
There's only one choice!
4. Why this game? Why not another one? What is that thing on your lip?
I like to switch things up. Sometimes a well-known game a lot of people are playing, and sometimes a smaller game that maybe isn't as well populated. It keep things fun!
5. Can I join once the match is going?
Nope. The squad system keeps folks from joining a squad mid-battle.
6. What GameSpot folks will I be playing with?
Shaun McInnis and myself will be leading the charge!
7. What else do I need to know?
We'll be opening the GameSpot tournament chat room at least an hour before we're scheduled to play. To enter it, just go to this link:http://www.gamespot.com/chat/chat.php?room=GameSpot_Tournament. That way you can get information from GameSpot staff and hobnob with your buddies before the game starts.
Any disorderly behavior disqualifies you from participation and may earn you a moderation, suspension, or permanent ban. Please refrain from using harassing, negative, or profane language in either the Tournament chat or the game instance.
Don't cheat. No cheats or hacks of any kind are to be used. Taking advantage of known exploits in the game is also considered cheating. Doing any of that is considered against the spirit of the event, and if you are found to be cheating, you will be asked not to join future game nights.
8. So no bad language?
Try to keep it to a minimum. If someone lets a swear or two slip in voice chat, I won't have a fit or anything. Sometimes I may do the same. (Shh, don't tell!)
9. You mentioned something about "bounties" in the Game Night FAQ. What is up with that?
Every week, a player that meets the bounty requirement will get to take part in a grudge match later in the year against other bounty hunters. That match will take place on a game that pretty much anyone can play, such as a free bowling game, or some other such frivolity. The winner of the Grudge Match will receive a special emblem in his or her profile. Other emblems may also be awarded to players based on performance, wins, or other criteria.
10. What's this week's bounty requirement?
The non-scientific method: the player(s) GameSpot staff feels contributed most to the squad.
11. I am totally the best, and you know it. What if you give the emblem to some other dude, even if I know I am better?
The tears will drip from my eyes as I hand out the emblem.
12. So, do I have a good chance of kicking GameSpot ass?
Well, this idea doesn't really apply, since we'll be on the same team!
13. Do I get an emblem for playing?
The only emblem goes to the bounty winner(s). It's next to impossible for me to keep up with who enters the server and who doesn't. Besides, isn't gloating over GameSpot Staff a great reward

1. How do I get in on the action?
Here's how we're doing it: Create a new character of any race and class you like, but make sure the word "spot" is somewhere in your character's name so I can identify you. Do this on the Set server and go through the tutorial quests until you get to Tortage, which shouldn't take any longer than an hour, at MOST. Then, reply here with your character name so I can add you to my friends list.
I will be using the same toon I created on the marathon broadcast: Shakatapa. We'll go ahead and grab some Tortage quests together, explore some dungeons, and have a good time.
It is imperative that you join the chat room so I can communicate with all of you, which I'll open up around 6PM. We'll have loads of fun!

This week's bounty winner will be chosen based on what player the editors feel kicked their asses most. It's not a scientific system, I know, but after Resistance Night, it was clear which players we're dogging the editors, and it is bound to be the same this time as well. So if you want the emblem, gang up on us. Just remember: if you pick on me too much, I have the power to ban!
11. I am totally the best, and you know it. What if you give the emblem to some other dude, even if I know I am better?
The tears will drip from my eyes as I hand out the emblem.
12. So, do I have a good chance of kicking GameSpot ass?
Most of us are going into this as newbies. I think it should be a nice, even plaing field!
13. Do I get an emblem for playing?
The only emblem goes to the bounty winner(s). It's next to impossible for me to keep up with who enters the server and who doesn't. Besides, isn't gloating over GameSpot Staff a great reward?
