FEAR Perseus Mandate and Project Origin

Do you know what is Perseus Mandate and what is Project Origin?

F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate

FEAR Perseus Mandate is developed by a new developer, TimeGate Studios with Sierra (original developer was Monolith) and is the official standalone expansion of the original game FEAR. (Sierra still owns the rights to the name F.E.A.R.)

Perseus Mandate is set from half-way through F.E.A.R. and through Extraction Point. You play as someone only known as The Seargent. He is unrelated to Alma, but has the same powers as the original point man. This character is the Special Forces team that were sent in to investigate the incident at Armatech.

Project Origin

Project Origin is developed by the original developer, Monolith and WB, and will continue on the character of the original point man of FEAR. This game will supposedly continue the story of FEAR and the original point man.

Why 2 FEAR2? Confusion?

This is caused when WarnerBros bought Monolith (developer of F.E.A.R.) but the series name F.E.A.R. is still owned by Sierra.

The game's characters are owned by Monolith so the "appropriate" sequel would be Project Origin even though the game doesn't have the name "FEAR" in it.

The series name is still owned by Sierra so the characters of FEAR Perseus Mandate would be new ones.

So in the end, we the games would have 2 new F.E.A.R. games to play:

Perseus Mandate(standalone expansion pack) and Project Origin (sequel to F.E.A.R.)
