After cryptic teasers on their site, Peter Molyneux and Lionhead have announced Fable III at Gamescom.

Peter Molyneux has said that 'See the Future' will contain more about Theresa, wrap up some threads from Fable II *and* Fable I, and it will come out this northern Spring.

Also, for those of you unsatisfied with the Knothold DLC, apparently this has 'more polish', and they are not done with Fable II yet, which suggests we should keep our eyes open!

What do you think is needed in new DLC? What would you like to see enlarged? I've started a thread on the board... be great to hear your thoughts.

The Knothole Island DLC has hit the marketplace.
I'm downloading it right now, but it's going slowly. There's a free one, which gets you a new trader and allows you to play as a henchman, and a premium one, costing 800 points, which lets you travel to the island itself.

"It seems today that some chap over in the US has posted an achievement list that he claims to come from Fable 2. Well, although I'm not posting this blog confirming or denying that the list is accurate (It was leaked after all), I think most keen observers might see a correlation to some of my comments in the previous blog to the achievement list.

Obviously MS employees can't officially comment on supposedly leaked lists, but we here at LH are more than happy for you guys to discuss them in the forums from now on."

Fable 2 will be released on the 21st of October in North America, and the 24th of October in the United Kingdom. No news yet of other territories.

Not that new, considering most of the actors are still kicking around. But different. A reinvention, if you wish.
Nothing was wrong with the way the place was run before, and in many ways I wish Button was still running it. But becoming leader has made me think about this place, not thoughts I had before but bit back, rather thoughts that never occurred to me before now.

Firstly, I want to apologise for your receipt of two copies of the message that I have sent to all of the members. It was unintentional, a product, I believe, of my computer being unable to connect to the server properly after I pressed the send button. I hope it meant you read it though, and that it didn't make it easier to trash. I also apologise for not including a link to the union frontpage, something that only struck me in retrospect as I imagined people searching for the union at the bottom of their list.

Secondly, a quick manifesto of what I hope my leadership will be like.
I want this place to thrive as best it could. Don't be intimidated by the length of the threads, just jump in. We're all friendly sorts. I have ideas about some friendly competition between us all within the game, whether it be through scores, tallies, multipliers or what-have-you. It has been a long time since Fable and The Lost Chapters came out, and we still have a way to go before Fable 2 comes out. But I think we can all go back and find something to try and reconcile with what we know of the new game, be it what has happened to make the game-world change so much, what we think of the dog idea over the mini-map, or why exactly the bows have been removed.

I'm going to do my best as leader, and I'd like you to honour that by doing your best as fellow community members. You don't have to, but if you do, I'm sure you will enjoy it.

According to a Gamespot report of a Major Nelson podcast, there will be two more XBLA games released in the middle of the year. 'Wizard's Tower' and 'Magic Dice' will join 'Keystone' in being released before Fable 2, and allowing gamers to earn/gamble in-game currency that will carry over to Fable 2 itself.

Additionally, Molyneux has "scotched rumours" that Fable might be in stores soon, saying "that the three XBLA games will be released in the (northern) summer, before Fable 2 hits stores."

According to play.com, May 30 is the release date for Fable 2 - possibly a fair bit earlier than a lot of us thought, but it's not been confirmed as yet...

The Fable Union's population has finally reached quadruple digits!

The fourth episode of the Fable video diaries has just been put up, and this one focuses mostly ont he artistic stuff and debugging. There is a rumour on the netz that Microsoft are axing a "big-name project".

Now, a Lionhead rep has said "It's not Fable 2, I can tell you that much." But then most of Microsoft's other big-name projects have been 'confirmed' as not axed as well.

Other games GS lists as possibles: Too Human, Alan Wake, the new Banjo Kazooie, Halo Wars, a Marvel MMO.
Silicon Knights are having a legal fight with Epic over Too Human, Rare have severely underperformed recently (PDZ, Viva Piñata...) and pretty much need a hit in order to escape being fully integrated into MSGS, and no one has heard much of Alan Wake for ages and ages.

So I wonder what it will be? Let's hope it's not Fable 2. It's been looking like it's coming along well.
Likewise Too Human, they've managed to fix some of the camera issues they were criticised for last year, but have been having trouble with their stick combat. But they are supposed to be releasing a demo on Live end of this year/early next.
