Fans of the Chilba Lotte Marines are actually collaboration to keep their manager - a skipper who just happens to be ex-Met manager Bobby Valentine.
Despite managing Chilba for seven seasons, including a Japanese Series title in 2005, Valentine has been told by team officials he won't be back for the 2010 season because they can't afford to extend his $3.9 million contract. The decision has sparked an outcry from Chilba fans, who have come to see Valentine as not only a good manager, but a fan favorite.

Tim Wakefield, the right handed knuckleballer is currently ranks third on the Red Sox all time wins list at 168, behind Cy Young and Roger Clemons, who are tied at 192. At 42 years old, he will never get to 200 wins, but in this day and age of the 5 starter rotation, the odds of us having pitchers getting 200 wins are getting harder and harder, and 300 wins--you can forget that. We now have to start looking at other things..i.e intangbles. He still has some very impressive stats.
