"I could not be more excited that 'Fanboys' is being released this September and is the version of the film that the fans want," said "Fanboys" producer Kevin Spacey. "I am enormously grateful to Jedi Knight Harvey Weinstein for having allowed Trigger Street to restore "Fanboys" to its original story and am thrilled that it will first screen during Comic-Con. We believe in this film and are honored that George Lucas and all his team gave us permission to film Skywalker Ranch and let us have so much fun with Star Wars. We also have a couple of surprises in the film that I think will bring added enjoyment to all the fans of Lucas' great and epic movies and Trigger Street is proud to have produced this film and to have kept the dark side at bay."
"Speaking for everyone involved in the project, we are truly grateful for all the passion the fans have shown the film," stated director Kyle Newman. "Their support has been nothing short of phenomenal and I couldn't think of a better place in the world than San Diego during Comic-Con to unveil the final cut of 'Fanboys.'"

Have you heard of the fan feature film called Fanboys? It's about these Star Wars fans who's friend has cancer, and they travel to Skywalker Ranch so their friend can see Episode I before he dies.
But the movie studio, the Wienstein Company, wants to cut the cancer plotline out of the film and turn it into a comedy that redicules Star Wars fans! Some fans have got together to stop them from changing the plot. Help us! Help us by adding Stop Darth Weinstein on MySpace at http://www.myspace.com/stopdarthweinstein so you can save this brilliant film from becoming rubbish!
Considering the inactiveness of the union and other factors, I have decided that I'm going to change slightly the focus of the union.
I have decided we are also going to incorperate other LucasArts games into the union discussion.
I hope this change will improve the union significantly.
We now have 100 members! Thanks to our latest member,jessi-spain, for being the 100th member of the union and getting us to this great milestone!
I have followed the example of the Moes Tavern Union and have made a video for promotional and welcoming purposes, here it is:
We have a new officer in the union, Macgyver40, he has already been a great help with regards to inviting new members to the union. Well done Macgyver40!
There is still 1 officer position available!
LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga was announced last week, which I somehow missed. It's for all the next gen consoles, coming out this fall. Here's the lowdown on the changes.
From Portalit.net:
Last week LucasArts announced that a new addition to the LEGO Star Wars franchise was coming this fall. Initial data, was scarce, but a now an update hopefully clears things up a bit.
The list of updates and enhancements is down below:
- Adds new levels, new characters and new features to the fun, creativity and tongue-in-cheek humor that made LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game and LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy such huge hits.
- New levels, such as Episode II's never-before-played high-speed pursuit of bounty hunter Zam Wessell, further complete the entire Star Wars story.
- New playable characters like Watto, Zam Wessell, Boss Nass and more bring the total count to over 160.
- The upgraded Character Customizer includes all Prequel Trilogy characters for the first time, while also expanding its customization options well beyond those in LEGO Star Wars II, for millions more possibilities. Create cross-Trilogy mash-up characters like Han Windu and Lando Amidala.
- New game features include enhanced Force powers, new power-ups, and a new Challenge Mode.
- Levels from the original LEGO Star Wars are revamped to meet the gameplay evolutions of LEGO Star Wars II.
- For the first time, every Prequel Trilogy character - even those without the Force - can build, as well as jump into and out of the vehicles they create.
- Redesigned "Mos Espa Podrace" and "Gunship Cavalry" levels now encourage the open vehicle gameplay of LEGO Star Wars II.
- New bonus levels and 10 additional Bounty Hunter Missions offer new challenges in the Prequel Trilogy.
- Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3: The LEGO Star Wars premiere of online two-player co-op lets families play together from anywhere in the world for the first time.
- Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3: New high-resolution LEGO models and characters, along with new environment graphics and special effects, create visuals unparalleled by any other LEGO galaxy far, far away.
- Wii: Motion-sensitive inputs give you exciting new ways to control your LEGO Star Wars characters.
- Nintendo DS: Created from the ground up by Traveller's Tales, this version incorporates exclusive touch-screen action and challenges.
- Peek behind the scenes with the bonus video "The Building of LEGO Star Wars."
LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga is being developed by Traveller's Tales and will be released on PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS.
Happy 30th birthday to Star Wars!
A new Euphoria Tech Demo has been released.
From GameSpot:
After taking 2006 off, LucasArts' Star Wars: Battlefront series of shooters is returning in 2007, but only on the PlayStation Portable. The publisher today announced that it will release Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron exclusively for Sony's handheld this fall.
As the only new entry in the series this year, Renegade Squadron will introduce a new character-customization system. Instead of picking from a lineup of regimented character classes, players will be able to tailor their character's weapons, abilities, and equipment to their liking. Renegade Squadron will also be playable online in battles of up to 16 players, so players will be able to pit their customized characters against others' to see which combinations work best.
LucasArts is also adding a new story for the single-player campaign mode, with the Renegade Squadron of the title being a secret group of shady characters running missions for the Rebel Alliance under the command of Han Solo. Battles will take place in a number of settings that should be familiar to fans of the space opera, with mission objectives including sabotage, rescue, and retrieval.
Development on Renegade Squadron is being entrusted to Rebellion, the outfit behind the PSP games Gun Showdown and Miami Vice: The Game. Previous entries in the Battlefront series were developed by Pandemic Studios (Mercenaries, Destroy All Humans!).
