POKEMON YELLOW

Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition (ポケットモンスターピカチュウ, Poketto Monsutā Pikachū?, "Pocket Monsters Pikachu") is the fourth game of the Pokémon video game series in Japan, and the third in North America, Europe, and Australia. The game is a slightly updated version of the previous two games, Pokémon Red and Blue, and features Pikachu as its mascot.[50] It was released for the Game Boy in Japan on September 12, 1998; in North America on October 1, 1999; in Europe on June 16, 2000; and in Australia in 2000.[51] Along with the release, a special-edition, yellow, Pokémon-themed Game Boy Color was also available for purchase.[50]

The plot and gameplay of Pokémon Yellow is largely the same as in Red and Blue,[52] although it features changes to make the game more similar to the animated series. Like Ash Ketchum in the anime, players receive Pikachu as their starter Pokémon. Unlike other Pokémon encountered in the game, Pikachu walks behind the player and will display emotion, reacting when the player enters certain buildings or rooms. If the player faces Pikachu and talks to it, a box will appear showing Pikachu's face and current mood, ranging from angry, to curious, to bursting with love. Other minor gameplay changes include a different selection of Pokémon available to catch, all three Red and Blue starter Pokémon being available from NPCs, and the anime's characters Jessie, James, and Meowth making appearances.[53]

Despite being an upgraded variant of Pokémon Red and Blue, Yellow proved to be extremely popular. In North America the game received roughly 150,000 pre-orders[54] and debuted second in sales and claimed the top spot a week later.[50] It was difficult to find during its release[55] and became the fastest selling handheld game of all time; the standard cartridge sold over 600,000 units in its first week and more than one million copies in its first fortnight, remaining the top selling handheld game for weeks. It entered the Guinness Book of Records in 2001 for selling one million copies within a span of one month.[56] Overall, Yellow was well-received by critics, with an aggregate score of 85.5% on Game Rankings.[57] GameSpot gave it a "Great" rating, with a 8.9/10 score,[58] and IGN gave it a "masterful" 10/10, noting "The game is super easy to pick up and play, yet it's challenging in its own right. And it's addictive."

CHRONO TRIGGER

http://www.valkyriestudio.net/cc/trigger/pics/packaging/cart-us.jpg

Chrono Trigger (クロノ・トリガー?) is a console role-playing game developed and published by Square (now Square Enix) for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1995. The game's story follows a group of adventurers who travel through time to prevent a global catastrophe. Square re-released a ported version by TOSE in Japan for Sony's PlayStation in 1999, later repackaged with a Final Fantasy IV port as Final Fantasy Chronicles in 2001. A slightly enhanced Chrono Trigger was released for the Nintendo DS on November 25, 2008 in North America and Japan, and went on sale in Europe on 6 February 2009.[2] The game had not been released in PAL territories before the DS version.

Chrono Trigger's development team included three designers that Square dubbed the "Dream Team", consisting of Hironobu Sakaguchi, creator of the Final Fantasy series, and Yuuji Horii and Akira Toriyama—two freelance designers known for their work on Enix's Dragon Quest series. Kazuhiko Aoki produced the game.[3] Masato Kato wrote most of the plot, while composer Yasunori Mitsuda scored most of the game before falling ill and deferring remaining tracks to Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu.

THE LEGEND OF ZELDA

File:The Legend of Zelda Gold NES Cartridge.png

The Legend of Zelda (THE HYRULE FANTASY ゼルダの伝説, Zeruda no Densetsu?, the "Hyrule Fantasy" subtitle was omitted from its English localization) is the first installment in the Legend of Zelda series, designed by Shigeru Miyamoto and developed and published by Nintendo. Set in the land of Hyrule, the plot centers on a boy named Link, the playable protagonist, who aims to rescue Princess Zelda from the primary antagonist, Ganon, by collecting the eight fragments of the Triforce, a powerful artifact.

As the inaugural game of The Legend of Zelda series, it was first released in Japan as a launch title for the Famicom's Disk System peripheral on February 21, 1986, a year and five months before it was released in North America. Because the Famicom Disk System was not released outside Japan, the game was published internationally on the Nintendo Entertainment System's cartridge format in 1987, with an internal battery to facilitate data saving.
