Console Wars- The ongoing war between consoles in maddening, and there never appears to be a clear winner. Let's select a winner, and vote for our favourite consoles. Whichever console gets the more votes win the Console Wars (duh). For this union, atleast.

Handheld Wars- Clearly, this generation, there is only one king of handhelds, and that is the DS. It has more games, it has better sales figures than its competitor, the PSP. But that is just the general consensus. Many people think that the PSP is not out of the war yet, and still has a chance of winning- they think it's library is great and is getting better by the day, and the same with its sales. They think the PSP is better. Then, of course there is the iPhone, trying to fit in, which is a decent handheld machine too. But that isn't all. The GBA is still considered by many as the king of all handhelds, better even than the DS. Which is the best handheld?

Gamespot's Hero Madness- Gamespot has been having a tournamnet kind of thing lately- which gaming character, in all of gaming history- is the best? There have been a lot of votes for some loved characters (and otherwise). We, at the Reviewers Union, have our own version of the Hero March. We have selected five great protagonists, out of which you have to vote for your favourite. If your favourite character is not listed, then vote for the one which is your favourite out of the five listed in the poll anyway, and tell us about the character that you thought was missing in the poll, in that very topic.

Reviewers Union

As if our new Library system wasn't perfect already, we have added some new features. First of all, there has been a big change in the Handheld Library System. You have snapshots of all the gasmes and a small and quick one liner that basically tells you how the game is at first glance. Check out the handheld library here.

Also, we have broken down the 3rd Gen Library into three parts, three topics for each. The first one is "Nintendo Wii Reviews Library". The second one is "Playstation 3 Reviews Library". And the third is "Xbox 360 Reviews Library". This has been done because the third gen library was getting very cluttered and messy. This makes the searches more refined, organised and much more user friendly. 

Anyway, please check out the libraries and give us your feedback on them.

This week had a lot of new things for our union. First of all, we had some great reviews, a lot of activity and some great ideas by some very active users. We also introduced two new weekly contests- Member of the Week and Reviewer of the Week. khoofia_pika (thats me) won the Member of the Week contest because of his activity (check out the poll here), a lot of new ideas, polls, comments and reviews. Charizard1605 with his MadWorld review, won the Reviewer of the Week contest (check out the poll here). His review was the most detailed, long and enjoyable review of the week.

Reviews Update Thread

This is a thread where, after posting each review in a topic or after creating a new topic for a game, you will have to tell the officers which game you have reviewed on which console or which topic you have created. You can do that by posting in this topic. Each game reviewed or each topic created has to be reported here. This is for the upgradation of the catalog at the end of each week. Every gamer HAS TO update this thread after posting each review so the officers can keep track of each review posted.

Every week, a pointless (or not) poll will be posted. Vote, and laugh your guts out or do whatever you want to do. Just vote. You can vote here.

Okay. So as all you people know, our new concept of the Library was working very well until today. First of all, some of us found out that the Library was getting cluttered and very hard to manage. Also, we have reached the maximum character limit of 20,000 characters per post and cannot edit the catalog further. We cannot add more links to reviews, we cannot update it- nothing. Nothing at all.

So, SGTiD1NG0, me and charizard1605 figured a new way out. We have now created FIVE LIBRARIES. They are listed below.

1. 1st Gen Game Reviews Library

2. 2nd Gen Game Reviews Library

3. 3rd Gen Game Reviews Library

4. Handheld Game Reviews Library

5. PC Games Reviews Library

Please go to all the Catalogs to see which console games can be listed. Remember, games' reviews' links shall be posted in their respective catalogs. For example, dont post PS3 reviews on the PC Reviews Library. Please see the consoles listed in every topic and then post the links to your reviews.

Let's hope this works out.

So.. there have been some members who have been posting constantly and we dont want their efforts to go completely unnoticed. So, voila! Here we go- The Member of the Week Competition. to where finding Reviews on the forum is made easier. At the moment it isn't paticulary useful however when the day does arise with hundreds of members this useage will be greatly appreciated.

To date we have six written reviews on this Union, hopefully within months we'll have hit the 100 hit benchmark.  

Now guys from @Azghouls idea with a bit of tweaking, I've come up with an idea so we can disscuss, help and share reviews better on the board posts. What this idea is that we have two choices from which everyone can mainly vote for:

To make our board cleaner, we can provide each user with one board post to contain all their reviews from which we can comment on their reviews so the board isn't as clogged up.Of course they can post as many posts on General stuff like games as they wish but to hold all their works of art in, the idea would be so it made the Union alot more manageable.The one downside of this is that, posts will get older and go to the bottom (going on older pages never to be seen again). However after every month users can have another post to contain all their newer reviews in them up until the next month or possibly two is over. Then they get a new post to contain all their newer reviews and so the cycle continues. From this the board will be much shorter and managable so reviews can be found so much easier from certain reviewers.

Then there's plan B where everyone has one post for every review. Which would make the board alot harder to manage and scruffier but on the positive side, you know what game the review is based on.

Before people start posting their reviews on the boards can we have a Poll where by you can vote for which method of posting reviews you want, both idea's are pretty much explained above, any questions on these ideas PM me and I'll get back to you ASAP.
