Pitchers and Catchers Report in to Spring Training
It was Valentine's Day, and love was in the air again.
Baseball was back.
Wednesday was the first day that pitchers and catchers could report to Spring Training, and Thursday was a first chance to see teams taking shape -- Johan Santana in a new Mets jersey, Joe Torre in his new role as Dodgers manager, B.J. Ryan expressing faith that he can be an Opening Day closer, Carlos Zambrano getting the Cubs' formal Opening Day starting nod, a new atmosphere around the Cardinals' camp, and one of the best 1-2 pitching punches in baseball from Seattle.
